One Thumb to Rule Them All
This is a great add-on for the Fire TV remote. I have a Fire TV hooked up to a TCL TV and after playing around with the settings and HDMI CEC settings on the TV, I came to accept that the Fire TV remote just couldn't do it all. I can get my TV to power on when the Fire TV wakes from sleep, but couldn't get the TV to turn off when the Fire TV (and I) went to sleep. That and there was no way to control the volume without the original TV remote. Bouncing between two remotes was fine, but when half asleep and having finished my stories for the night, I was looking for a way to put the TV to sleep so I could go to sleep. The Sideclick keeps my thumb in control, and removes the need to dig around for another remote, half asleep, in the dark. Looking around and doing some searches brought me to the Sideclick. Currently, it is pretty much the only add-on remote for the Fire TV, and I am fine with that. It works great. It was easy to program. It actually took me longer to decided what I wanted each button to do than it did to program the buttons. Power and Volume were givens, but that left me with 5 others buttons to my TV as I wish. I was a little worried that remote would add extra bulk or width to my existing remote, but once I got it hooked up and started controlling my TV with a single remote, the joy overshadowed my initial concerns. With the Sideclick, my remote is still smaller than my iPhone 7 Plus, which has been at the command of a single thumb for a while now. The only complaint (if you could call it that...maybe more of a personal issue that I have) is that the buttons on the far left side of the FireTV remote are very close to the raised edge of the clip that holds the remote in the Sideclick. The back and rewind buttons on the Fire TV remote are very close to the raised edge of the plastic holder, making it a little harder to just slide my thumb across or find the buttons I once knew to be at the edge, but as I watch my stories I can just ask Alexa to go back or rewind using my nearby dot.

One Remote to rule them all
Holy cow would you look at this someone finally thought "Hmm having 2 or 3 remotes is a real pain... were is remote 1? Were is 2? Argh too many remotes and I just wanna watch Netflix!" Its about time someone finally made a solution to the age old problem of "Why do we need so many darn remote for one thing?", well as soon as I found out this was a thing I bought it and I never have been more happier. Programing the thing is pretty easy you hold the buttons you put the other controller you want to copy said action to in front of the thing and bam! Your done! My current setup is a TV with a soundbar and just to Turn on the TV, then the Sound bar and then finally the Fire stick would be 3 controllers. this thing cuts that down to 1 and it does the job perfectly. Not only is it stylish but it looks like one of those things that should of been part of the controller to begin with, the best part is like I said, it just works, that's the best part, no numbers to input to program every single device just copy each action you want from each controller and your ready to have a good time watching anything from a good Netflix series to some really long YouTube Lets plays or even some Jabroni streaming on Twitch all with just ONE REMOTE, one to rule them all. I have a button for Volume up and down, one to Switch TV Inputs, one to Turn on the TV, One to Turn on the Sound Bar, and one to Switch the Sound Bar's input, everything is just like I wanted it. So you want to make your life easier? Buy this already if your dealing with 3 or 4 Remotes, its worth it.

Works great - recommended
I tried the Philips Amazon TV remote first, but the problem is that remote does NOT fit the newest Fire 4K TV stick and my receiver is old enough (but still serviceable) that Philips did not have IR codes that would work. This one worked perfectly. The documentation doesn’t exactly explain this, but the box contains two clips - one for the earlier thinner Fire TV remotes and another for the newer, fatter ones. The second worked for a brand new Fire TV stick. As for the receiver, this one learns from your prior remote so no mucking about with remote code profiles and codes. Worked great and you can program each button to do what you want. The only criticism that I have is that it could be a bit longer with a couple of more buttons, which I could have used, but the fact that it works is good enough for me. Recommended.

Sidekick add-on remote nice but Fire TV could use some improvement
I was hoping this would relieve me of at least one TV remote and it accomplishes just that. Programing it for TV power on/off, volume up/down/mute and channel up/down and also input selection was very easy and all works well. Glad I took a chance with this sidekick to make using my Amazon Fire TV remote more effective. I do recommend this product. Side note: My Amazon Fire TV box has to be disconnected from power source (I pull plug from back of the Fire TV box) and then reconnected each time after I turn off my TV. This gets a little annoying. There should be an on/off switch or some other way to keep it booted up for the next time it is used. It will also occasionally freeze up to maybe buffer (?) program I am watching but when it again snaps back into the program at least it will be from the same spot where if froze up so I do not miss any of the programing - just delays it. Delays have lasted for just 30 seconds to 90 seconds. I don't really want to exchange the Fire TV box and have to reprogram my settings and apps so I just keep disconnecting power supply daily and wait thru the freeze ups. Anyone have a solution for these problems?

Great design, really cool concept, love it!
I don't write reviews often but I'm thrilled about this little gizmo. I'm a tech junkie and since I saw this concept I've been dying to try it. The remote is more durable than I thought, its seamless with the remote as seen in the image; the only thing to get used to is the extra width since it adds about 3/4ths of the remotes original thickness. The programming was fairly easy, it took about 1 minute after I realized which buttons I wanted; very cool and simple. Definitely great not to have to look for the other remote to control volume and power, the convinience is just great. The price is ehhh.. look considering the design and function, it's worth it. This isn't a cheaply designed poor material built design; it looks like it took time to get a precise and seamless fit, the housing holds 2AA batteries which are included, that was great to see; ready to use right out the box. There you have it, my first review in 2017 and just because this product IS something that makes a daily difference, I highly recommend it.

Not completely compatible with Vizio or LG
I guess I should have read the reviews first before buying. I see that people here could not get the SideClick to work with the Vizio remote. I tried and tried and tried, but failed. I was about to give up and return the SideClick but I decided to try one more thing. On my other TV, I have a Logitech Harmony remote and I re-programmed it to control my Vizio TV. I then tested the Logitech remote on my Vizio TV to confirm it can control it (it does). I then used the Logitech to program the SideClick and BAM! It works. The SideClick would not accept the signal coming from my stock Vizio remote but it would take it from my Logitech remote. It works perfectly now. Still only giving it a 3 star for lack of compatibility with a very mainstream TV. Maybe if I had non-mainstream, cheap TV like a Septre, TCL or HiSense I would almost expect it not to work but not Vizio. Oh well, at least I got it to work. *** Update: I purchased a second SideClick for my LG TV and LG sound bar. Looks like I am having the exact same issues with the LG products and I did with my Viizio TV. I attempted to program the SideClick using the stock LG remote and while it looked like it accepted the signal, the TV and sound bar would not respond to the SideClick buttons. Use the stock remotes the TV and sound responds fine. So I decided to do the same workaround as above. I used my Logitech Harmony and programmed it to control the LG TV and soundbar. Once again I confirmed the Logitech Harmony remote works and it does. I then used the Logitech Harmony to program the SideClick and BAM! it works. *** Hard to say if I would recommend this product to someone. While it works after I program it using my Logitech Harmony remote, I am not able to program it without it. LG and Vizio are major brands so I am not sure what brand this remote will work with using the stock remotes.

The Sideclick easily passes the S.A.T.
I figured this would be a product that was cheaply made and worked just “good enough.” But I’m actually pleased as punch! The design is sleek and easy to use. My wife has small hands and wished that the remote could be reversed, but has no complaints on how easy it is to use. Spousal Approval Test passed! We are now using the Sideclick to go from using three remotes (TV, Surround Sound, Fire Stick) to just one (Fire Stick + Sideclick). You can program as many remotes to it as there are buttons (but only one function per button, no device profiles for multiple remotes). We set ours up so that the Power button turns on the TV, the Volume buttons control the volume on the surround sound, and input selections for both. The only downside I have is that we can’t hold down the volume button to quickly control the volume, but that’s really not a big deal since you can just click it multiple times very quickly. It has an excellent response time. The Sideclick runs off 2 AAA batteries, which the Fire Stick also uses. So if the batteries go dead on either device, I can just get a 4-pack and replace them all at once. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and highly recommend this product.

Good solution, with limitations.
Accomplishes the goal that it sets out to accomplish. However, the buttons are a little limited. If you have only a TV to turn on, than this does just fine. If you have a second component, such as a speaker system, you can make this work, but chances are you will still need a universal remote to tweak some settings. If you have a third device (such as a BluRay player), you can program this to turn it on, but that's about it. I understand that this is not intended to be a full replacement for a universal remote--it's just intended to be able to turn your TV off and on when watching the Amazon Fire (or other streaming device). However, it would be handy to have more buttons to program for the TV, for example, having full TV "navigation" buttons (i.e. up, down, left, right, and select). Sometimes I want to tweak my display settings for watching a movie depending on the time of day or light level. If I had those buttons I could accomplish that without getting the old universal remote control out. I tried using a universal remote with a Flirc to control the Amazon Fire, and this worked reasonably well. This kept me at a single remote, but the concessions were: 1) no voice search, and 2) no "long press" support (some Fire buttons behave differently with a long press versus a single click). After living with these shortcomings a while, I decided to try the SideClick. I'm glad I did, this is what I use to watch the Fire. I now have voice search and long press functionality back. However, the downside, is I have to keep my second universal remote control handy to control the BluRay player, or change any display settings on the TV. With the number of buttons available, the added functions I have are 1) turn all devices (TV, Speaker, BluRay) on/off, 2) volume up/down, 3) "ok" and "Exit" commands on the TV--which are useless since there's no arrow or navigation buttons, and 4) a TV input toggle. So I can't quite get rid of the second universal remote with this. Maybe the next version will have more buttons.

Great Addition
Easy to program, Just what you need to reduce the number of remotes in your hand to one only. To put this much control into a small module is great engineering.
