Great deal for grafting knife with grafting tape combo. The knife itself was super sharp and was really easy to handle when grafting my avocado trees. I multi multiple trees every year and do it all at once and this knife was super helpful this year. The green tape is my favorite tape because of how it seals around the branches, but it’s nice that it includes both other options and the added labels are just like a nice touch.

I wanted to try grafting some fruit trees for the first time, so I purchased this as a starter kit because it was reasonably priced and included all of the tools and materials I needed. The knife was a little hard to open, but it was sharp and worked well for grafting; it was so sharp I cut myself a few times because I had no clue what I was doing. The grafting plastic wrap stuff (not sure what it's really called) was easy to use and held up well. It held the graft together while still allowing new growth to come through it. The rolls were substantial in size, and will last me a long time! The name tags were a nice touch for labeling the various grafts on my new Frankenstein tree.

I am a Kona coffee farm on the Big island and do a lot of grafting of coffee, mango and avocado trees. This is a great knife for doing larger material - scions of 1/2 inch. I prefer a single edge razor blade for small things like coffee trees - 3/16 inches diameter. The parafilm is important for grafting and covering all cut areas and the entire scion. These colored labels are excellent, easily attached after marking with a permanent marker the date grafted and variety of the scion. The three different parafilm sizes are good in giving options related to the size of material grafted. I highly recommend the package, and good price.

A couple of things puzzle me about this knife. 1. First, the picture shows the NAYE brand on the blade(s), but the knife I got doesn't. Did I get the actual product? Inquiring minds want to know. 2. All grafting knive descriptions I see talk about bevel on only one side of the blade edge. This one is bi-beveled (on both sides). [Unlike the one pictured in my second picture] 3. The blade isn't terribly thin, so beware that for wedge-receptor cuts you're going to be splitting the wood quite a bit. 4. Finally, and crucially, razor-sharp this knife was NOT. I had to sharpen it quite a bit before first use. [The Altuna sharpener pictured in my second photo did a reasonable job.] Overall, though, the knife is well built, solid and with a nice rosewood (I guess) handle. So I'm giving it three stars overall. Note: the grafting tape that comes with this kit is extremely frustrating. Think elastic wrapping plastic strips. It twists and bunches way too easily.

great item used it for grafting and air layering. It cuts clean and smoothly and they send you a lot for the price. Cheaper than in stores.
