Review: Better Quality for 20% of the Price - One is always skeptical when one sees or hears the words "Heavy Duty" or "Commercial Grade". It was with this doubt in mind when I ordered this rim exit device. I actually was going to order a direct replacement for the one that failed, but I couldn't justify its cost, which was nearly $1700! When I received the package, I could tell by the weight that it might be a quality piece of hardware. When I opened the package, all my doubt disappeared pertaining to the quality and ruggedness this device had. I should have measured the thickness of the covers compared to the ones I was replacing, but I'm going to guess that they were half again thicker. Ease of installation was the next thing I noticed because the mounting holes were virtually identical to the ones I was replacing. If the original had been installed correctly, this one would have dropped right in. I'm saving the best for last. Customer service for this device was stellar. Since this is mounted on the inside, I felt that I needed to get an outside handle with matching quality. Fortunately for me, Homebuilder Hardware left their business card in the shipping carton. I called their number and he had an idea what I needed. He then emailed me the spec sheet for that product to make sure it would work for me. I then ordered it and receive it in two days. To top it off, I got a phone call from them after a day or so asking me if everything worked out okay! That has never happened to me before. Am I a satisfied customer? Yes I am. Will I purchase from these people again? Absolutely!
