Tafhim-ul-Quran (Urdu: تفہيم القرآن, translit. Towards Understanding the Qur'an) is a 6-volume translation and commentary of the Qur'an by South Asian philosopher Syed Abul Ala Maududi. Maulana Maududi spent 30 years writing the work; he began in 1942 and completed it in 1972.[1] Tafhim is a combination of orthodox and modernist interpretation and has deeply influenced modern Islamic thought.
