Movie is okay…predictable plot and acting skill leave a little to be desired.

Because this was a low budget film, I give it kudos. The messages I received in the movie were key and could relate. Although the timing was off for them throughout most of the movie, I believe as in life that there is always a reason for delay. This was also the case for Will & Josh. when we have past angsts that would follow into another relationship; we must work through them before a green light to move forward can happen. Also assumptions were made, shade queens bringing drama and malice into the picture. We sometimes have to see past all of the outer things going on and look at the inner. Communication is key and when we communicate in a healthy way without the game playing, we can find something real. Stand in there and make things happen if you want it.

Although not a bad movie it left much to be desired. Ian Roberts lines were simple, often emotionless, and not always believable.. and Ronnie did not appear nor act like a Navy guy back from Afghanistan and who spent more time grousing over simple stuff than engaging the characters.. To put it more correctly he was stereo typical We Ho gay. All this being said, Ian is a body to really dream about (IMO) and was stark in compare to Ronnie's much shorter average stature making the "couple" amazing in some scenes. The Transitions were horridly slow and needed a much more experienced hand to keep it from seeming like a College first year film. The love story needed a bit of work as many times you are left with a full blown, " and why did that happen?" moment.All that still is not enough to give this a bad movie tag. If you are looking for a love story that Begs you to say , GET IT OVER WITH AND KISS HIM" .. this is your movie.

Ronnie Kerr mentioned on a youtube video that Saltwater took only 6 days to film, on a budget of only $10,000.While it doesn't have a Hollywood budget, it has charm, a nice story, and Ian Roberts!For anyone who doesn't know him, Ian Roberts was a top-level Australian Rugby player in the 1990s. He came out in '94/'95 while still playing rugby, and shattered a million stereotypes in the process.

I really did try to give it every opportunity. But when the movie mainly consisted of a year's worth of bad parties and two guys who kept missing their opportunity because of a simple disagreement a year ago, and then their best friend, the consummate host of all these horrid parties, abruptly commits suicide for no apparent reason (unless it was the parties that did it,) finally bringing the two guys together for once without having an argument. I don't know, it just felt really forced to me. I mean they went on arguing and disagreeing for a whole year, and now everything is just suppose to fall into place? Life doesn't work that way.Still, I tried to give it a chance because I thought the two guys were... Well, not exactly cute but, sweet! They were sweet. Giganture and his bean. But then, and I know this will sound crazy, given the comment above but I thought they should have given the relationship more time to develop. I mean, when you think about it, they never did. It was just a series of bad meetings over the course of a year, during which they probably said no more than five words to each other, and it was usually the wrong thing, or the wrong time to say it. The only time they ever spent any real time together was in the beginning, at that luncheon which went sour. But you can't build a relationship on that.I don't know. It just irked me. I guess the ending was fair on that point though. I give this a two and a half. You'll just have make up your own minds.

Ian Roberts (former rugby player) was the one that carried the movie for me. He had a certain quality that was perfect for the character in the story. I enjoyed the humor carried through out the movie.

I do my best to give gay cinema a chance and a little leeway when it comes to the finished product. I want to see more quality films depicting an accurate portrait of various aspects of gay life. The stereotypical (which gets overdone) to the more obscure. We as a group run the gambit.This had potential as something that could have went somewhere. It didn't. The script was not great, being polite, and didn't seem believable. I don't like when actors speak their lines instead of conveying their feelings through in a variety of ways including non verbal cues. I think the actors all have a chance to do good work, this was a little too forced for me. We all know people that are gay that live by these stereotypes. Why not show a side of gay life that doesn't?With all said, gay cinema needs to live outside the gay bubble and show how we as a people live in a real world instead of the contrive fishbowl the community has developed as some form of bad shelter from reality. I want to see characters that are real people, not because someone thinks their "hot".I wish all of the people involved success in future endeavors. Learn from this and develop your crafts.

I had a hard time getting my head around this one, I watched what the director had to say about the film. And I liked his goals. But this whole on again off again thing became a little tedious. In gay life you either like somebody or you don't . Not I can't make up my mind which would not be so bad if I could see reasons behind it

Une histoire dont le scénario laissait imaginer un bon moment de détente. Dommage je suis resté bloqué par le jeu de l'un des acteurs (le futur ami du personnage principal). J'ai vraiment eu l'impression qu'il avait besoin de quelques cours d'interprétation.

This a good intentioned, feel good movie, but the story is flimsy to the point of non existence. The characters lack all development, they are just first drafts of real people, and you know after the first 10 minutes how the whole story is going to unfold. Acting is stilted, but that's no wonder considering the lack of story, dialog and rhythm. About the only good thing is the fact that actors are not the usual Ken dolls, but mature men with a certain sexy, though they have been waxed to unnaturally total smoothness. I wasn't exactly bored, but not thrilled or even interested.
