Rich, Luxurious Chocolate with a Unique Filling
This bar is a proper treat, the blend of pistachio cream, tahini, and crispy kataifi is really unusual but totally works. It feels rich, indulgent, and has a lovely texture mix of smooth and crunchy. You can tell it’s high quality from the packaging to the taste. Makes a great gift, though I’ll admit I kept it all to myself. Would absolutely buy again when I want something special. Melted very easily though!

Delicious and hefty
This is the closest to real “Dubai” chocolate. These are a very hefty weight, very thick and come in very quirky packaging that come with a gift bag. This specific bar has a great pistachio flavour with a nutty crunch. I do believe the price is a little high, although this is a larger than normal chocolate bar and it does come very well packaged. If you are a chocolate connoisseur, this is not the thing for you as the chocolate is, in my opinion, not the highest of quality however it has come from Saudi Arabia so will have been designed to fit with the temperatures there. This is a very nice thing to have as a treat, if you want to just try “Dubai” chocolate, then I’d try a cheaper alternative.

Authentic Dubai chocolate but low on flavour
Firstly, for anyone anticipating a thick slab of chocolate with a pistachio flavouring, you need to manage your expectations because this is not what Dubai chocolate is! This is a version of the viral Dubai chocolate and it comes really nicely packaged with its own matching gift bag. The chocolate shell is decorated nicely and the taste is fairly average with a thinner and sweeter consistency than UK chocolate (don’t expect it to be comparable to Cadbury or Galaxy!), but I was a bit disappointed that it didn’t have that snap when breaking it open. The filling was a mix of knafeh and pistachio cream and it was quite soft without any of the crunch I expected from the knafeh pastry. It was sweet but there wasn’t really that much flavour to it either. Overall, it was OK but certainly not the best Dubai chocolate I’ve tried. The price is also high but I presume you’re paying for authenticity and shipping as this claims to be made in Dubai. If you just want an introduction to this type of chocolate then there are other supermarket versions which are a lot cheaper.

Does not live up to the hype
This is only the 2nd bar of this type of chocolate I've tried and while the first was a bland 2 star disappointment this stuff is not something I would rave about. It's an OK bar of chocolate and with this one at least I can taste the choc and the crunchy pistachio cream has some flavour to it. The decorative effect is good and the packaging is very good with a little bag if you want to give it away as a present. So an effort has been made on the presentation but. After all the hype I was expecting something mouth-wateringly delicious but to my taste it's just not at all outstanding or anything to rave about. It's a very mild flavour with no real strength or richness to it but it's subtle and pleasant enough. Maybe there is something out there that lives up to the furore but I've yet to taste it. For all I know this might be all this type of chocolate has to offer. I recently tried Snickers smooth peanut butter bars, heavenly compared to this and I bought 4 packs which came nowhere near to £28. I think it's probably an overpriced fad but if it was £10 I'd consider getting it again as something different to the norm. It's kind of 3.5 stars really but I've rounded that up rather than down because of the good presentation. Update : I see it's come down to £20 now which is much better but if I was buying it I wouldn't pay more than that.

Does not conform to UK food labelling and packaging requirements
I'm sorry to say that this product does not appear to conform to the following UK food labelling and packaging requirements: *If your food or drink product has 2 or more ingredients (including any additives), you must list them all. Ingredients must be listed in order of weight, with the main ingredient first. *You must highlight allergens on the label using a different font, style or background colour. You must also list them in the ingredients. This bar of Crush Dubai chocolate with pistachio gives (barely legible) nutrition facts, but the ingredients are listed as "pistachios, kunafa, butter vegetable, filling pistachio, chocolate, Sesame Tahini", and the allergen statement is also inadequate. Although I like to know what's in anything I eat, and always read ingredients lists, I did try this chocolate, and found it far too sweet, with a cloying, perfume-like flavour. The chocolate covering is very thin and pale - the cocoa percentage must be very low. When I ordered it, the price was a ridiculous £27.99 - it's now £19.99 which is still a joke. It's a long time since I've felt so disappointed - and frankly, cross - about any product.

Excellent packaging, great taste
I've developed a taste for Dubai chocolate recently and this bar is great. The quality of the packaging is much better than expected, the design for the Crush gift bag this was shipped with is premium, and everything was kept very safe upon delivery. No breakage, no scuffs, no melting (UK). It tastes great, just as good as the stuff I originally had in Abu Dhabi.

Nice packaging but the chocolate bar itself is just average
So, let me just take you through the steps as they happened. Arrives well package in a sturdy box with extra protection inside. The bar outer wrapping is really colourful (see photo) and comes with a matching gift bag both with the words Crush on. The bar itself felt nice and chunky, an above average thickness. Take the outer wrapper off and you are met with a wow golden foil that give the impression of that famous Chocolate factory with the golden ticket. Unwrap the foil and you are met with a really chunky bar drizzled in colours (see photo) I'm a big chocolate fan so at this point my mouth was watering - broke the end section off - surprised that it felt very light to break off - not a tough crack like I was expecting - it broke very softly more like a piece of fruit than a bar of chocolate. I could see the filling (see photo) made of pistachio and tahini - and then I bit into it .....drum roll... oh, is that it - it tasted very average - no burst of any flavour, no crunch - disappointing given the build up. I have eaten tons of chocolate in my lifetime covering the majority of types, consistencies, flavours and this one just tasted average - and then when you consider the price circa £28 , I was left wondering what all the hype was about. I thought maybe I had not experienced it at its best because it arrived on a warm day with no ice/cooling packing so I popped it in the fridge for 24 hours - expecting a wow the next day - but nope - still tasted average - I even went out and bought a different chocolate bar just to check if my taste buds had failed. The taste is 3 stars but the cost drops it a star. Sorry I dont get the hype with this bar - maybe I need to try a different brand.
