Is the salt mill interchangerble as a peper mill?

Since the pepper mill is out of stock everywhere at this time, I call WM's customer service. They said the salt mill is constructed to have a slightly finer grind than the pepper mill, but they are otherwise identical. They noted that these mills have an adjustment ring on them that gives several steps of coarseness, so that can overcome some of the "finer grind" of the salt mill, so you can adjust that if you want your pepper miller in larger bits. With that in mind, they said it is fine to use the salt mill for pepper.

will this grind pepper too?

Don't know; I would think the burrs are shaped differently for pepper than for salt, but I haven't looked. I purchased William Bounds Salt and Pepper Grinder earlier this year. It is approx. 23.5 cm or 9.25" tall

They come with a lifetime warranty so no new parts are needed. They will replace it. My last one was ceramic and I dropped it and shattered it. The warranty does not cover the owner being clumsy. My new one is wood. I expect to hand it down to my children. Best mill ever.
