This 31 cm power head has an electronic guidance system, which indicates the correct height setting for optimum cleaning performance. As a safety feature the electronics shut the motor off should the brush roller become obstructed. The double helix design of the brush gives superb brush action and guides dust into the airstream. For cleaning or replacement the brush roller can be removed easily, simply by pushing a button. The brush can be switched off, making it suitable for delicate floors or rugs e.g. wool-loop pile carpets, sample testing is recommended first as floor qualities vary. A soft bumper protects the power head against any knocks. The FELIX features a patented swivel neck which allows you to turn the machine easily, providing superb manoeuvrability for cleaning around obstacles. The 15 cm maximum height when flat enables the FELIX to clean under furniture, whilst the power head has an even lower profile for getting into hard to reach places. The integrated hose is immediately ready for cleaning hard to reach areas either on its own or with the crevice nozzle or upholstery nozzle. It displays ratings for various aspects of a vacuum cleaners performance and energy use and these ratings are provided by the manufacturer. The tests as specified for the Energy Label have to be conducted in an artificial laboratory environment and are not representative of how vacuum cleaners are actually used. In some cases achieving a high rating can only be done by producing a vacuum cleaner that is actually very difficult to use. Furthermore, the tests do not inform customers of their real world performance. For example, all the tests involve picking up special sand, yet sand is very rare in homes. However, the most common materials to be picked up, hair and fibre, are not tested for at all. A vacuum cleaner that is very good at picking up sand may well be very bad at picking up hair and fibre.
