Hot Tools 1.5" Extended Barrel Curling Iron for Loose Curls

LOVE my new curling iron. It heats up well and fast and is easy to hold. The really nice thing is that it is longer than the average curling iron. I love the 1.25”barrel. It gives me the little bit looser turn on the ends of my hair than my 1”. It is a nice weight, easy to hold and manipulate.

Best hot tool curling iron ever! I love the brand, hot tool products and would recommend all their products! I have a wider barrel curling iron and wanted a smaller curl, the 1 1/4 size curl last all day & night perfect size curl. I have had my other curling iron for at least 10 yrs. I love the many settings for heat but the new added feature is the cord that spins so it doesn't get all tangled up. I wish the products were a bit more affordable but at the end of the day, I will still buy their products.

I’m a big fan of the Hot Tools Model 1102…but the OLDER version of this curling iron with the twist-knob temperature control, not this “newer” version with the push-button temperature control. My main problem with this newer model—and the reason I almost immediately stopped using it and went back to the older versions, and only pull this one out when my newer version is unavailable—is that the SWIVEL CORD IS USELESS. It doesn’t really swivel. That means that by my third curl, I’m trying to untangle the cord by holding the product upside down and letting it dangle, like we used to do back in the days of telephone cords—and all this does is slow me down in the morning when I’m trying to get ready, AND it adds to my stress/exasperation levels. Secondly, I do agree with the other low ratings that the wand seems to “catch” a little more on the hair than the older models do, though for me it’s still a darn good curling iron in that respect, because of the generous, non-heated tip at the end, which allows me to hold the wand at the end and control the “catch” without burning my fingers (this is the reason I switched to the Hot Tools 15 years ago—I was tired of burning my fingers on the wands of cheaper brands that didn’t have a large, non-heated tip)—so I do appreciate this aspect of this newer model. I also agree with the lower ratings that mention how the push-button control doesn’t seem user-friendly and is a bit confusing, though once I figured it out it seemed second-nature—but I will admit that there is NO second-guessing the turn-knob model. I gave it a one-star because I am trying to send a message to the company to DISCONTINUE ANY of the models that have this version’s issue with the swivel cord! Perhaps I simply bought the only swivel-cord lemon out there—but if this is a systemic problem with this version, I wanted the company, and the consumer, to know about it. Thank you! Other than this, it’s a great iron, in my opinion—that’s why I keep buying the older versions and I hope those remain available for a long time.

This curling iron is amazing. Settings are for any hair style going from 280 all the way to 450 degrees. I have thick hair and my setting is on 380 and my hair curled perfect and last all day, even into the morning the next day. The wire is tangle free. This has left my hair in perfect curls all day!

This is my second Hot Tool curling iron. Other then one spot on the barrel wearing out it still worked very good. I like the temperature setting, the curls turn out so nice. I have fine hair which is a struggle to keep curls curled. When this one wears out I will order another one.

This is definitely not an extended barrel. It’s just a regular size. I have extended barrel from hot tools and this is way short to buy a couple inches. Also, it says that it’s professional. This is just the regular one. I do have a professional one and the states professional on the toilet itself so I don’t really buy it that it’s professional. It seems too flimsy.

Love this curling iron. The only brand I will ever buy! The gold plating helps protect my hair (I curl my hair every day), and the dual voltage means I do not need to carry heavy converters when I travel! The cord is also nice and long, and the swivel on it keeps it from tangling.
