Will this work if freestanding on the floor & not wall mounted?

Can this unit be fitted below the toilet level or does is need to he level with toilet?

Ours is fitted below the toilet level (in a wall cavity/secret door in the dressing room!) - I'm not one for reviews and amazon answers, but the saniflo really is good, Had it over a year now, put the descaler stuff (once a year thing) in it the other day to ensure all good (we live in a hard water area) but we are well pleased with it, for the amount of "chomping" it does, it's pretty quiet. Perfect solution for our ensuite in the new loft that did not enough angle to get to the soil stack (with shower) !
