Sorry, I misunderstood your question about the autoharp. You want to clamp the holder onto the autoharp, right. I'll check when I get home about the maximum clamp space when open. I'm guessing that this holder would feel somewhat unstable when attached to an autoharp, like it is when clamped to a mic stand, but maybe not.

Does the magnet interfere with the reeds on the Hohner harmonicas?

No iy does not interfere. I can't use it because with blues you need to bend notes and I do that with it on the stand. If you don't bend notes it is fine.

My harmonica on the stand weighs down my mic stand arm and it slowly end up at my waist! Any suggestions

Aside from the obvious answer of tightening the mic stand boom more to better stabilize it, I recommend getting a HarpArm EZ-Rack Pro (HA-51) instead. I have both, and I only used the Ultimate Magnetic Mic Stand a couple of times because when I played it moved the whole mic stand around annoyingly and felt very unstable. The alternative I recommend is similar to an old school harmonica rack, but it has two advantages. You can switch out a harp very quickly between songs, or even during a song if you want to change from playing 1st position to 2nd or 3rd position, for example. Equally advantageous is being able to change the angle of the harp using the rack angle adjustment knob. (I like to angle it slightly from perpendicular to my mouth, especially when bending notes.)
