Smart Lock E330

Update to my experience: So originally I gave this particular product 3 Stars because I'm not a fan of the E330's lack of a door sensor which would not allow the door to disengage the auto lock when the door was wide open. For example, someone goes out to take care of the trash, leaves the door open for a few seconds, dumps the trash and returns to the door to find the deadbolt engaged and the door open. Apparently Eufy (Anker) saw my original review and reached out to me regarding my statements about their product. Again, I was told that the E330 doesn't have the door sensor but the S330 does. I told them that information is not clearly visible on the product page for the E330 and that with the knowledge that the S330 had the door sensor, it really makes the E330 irrelevant and should not be a mainstay on the market. Both the E330 and the S330 have the same functions and features save for that door sensor as well as the S33 coming with it's own chime which just so happens to have an expansion slot on it for memory storage of the product videos. Eufy did the unthinkable and offered to replace my previously purchased E330 with an S330 and I was elated. They asked me what I was looking for in a smart lock and I told them just what I had said in my review: the E330 was ALMOST perfect, but the lack of a door sensor left me with a little bit of buyers remorse as it, at least to me, is a crucial feature for a "smart" device that's primary function is to provide a variety of ways to lock and unlock a door in person or remotely. Eufy offered to send me an S330 to try it out and they did make a disclaimer, stating that essentially the lock does have a door sensor on it, but it does have a timer that will still engage the lock after a set time whether the door is open or not. At first this seemed sort of counter-intuitive, but I said I will give it a try anyway. They immediately shipped me the new S330 and I received it just a couple days later. Let me say this, the S330 is noticeably heavier than the E330 and I thought that was a good sign. The two models are very similar in appearance with both being advertised as a 3-in-1 Camera, Doorbell, and of course a lock. Both sport a 2K camera that is sharp and detailed with great video capture capabilities. Both can be tied to your in-home WiFi and accessed remotely. Both have excellent fingerprint readers, although I will say the S330 one is physically more robust and it also is slightly more accurate in the way of consistency. Battery life between both are pretty much the same. The more features you have turned on the more battery is used so the battery goes fairly quick if you have everything on. Based on my current rate of battery usage I am expecting maybe 3 months of battery usage between charges. Your mileage may vary as we have lots of kids and therefore lots of activity making use of the camera be it passage through the door or little ones playing on the porch. Yes, there are settings in the app for this and I will speak about that shortly. Both products have a keyhole hidden behind the button that functions as a doorbell. Just pull the button out some and allow it to pivot to expose the keyhole. Both products come with two keys which brings the number of usable ways of unlock and entry to 4: the fingerprint reader, the physical key, the keypad, and the app. The keypad is great and allows me to program a code for each of my family members (as well as their fingerprints) into the unit. Additionally, you get a notification on your phone when programmed members use their code or fingerprint to enter the door. You can set each member to have constant access or temporary access via these methods. As stated previously, the S330 comes with it's own chime which in this case is like a programmable doorbell. It is something that you simply plug into an outlet and it carries 2 additional functions to it being a doorbell: 1) It acts as a hub/extender for the door lock. So if your router is a little further away from the door you can place the chime somewhere between the router and smart lock to gain a better signal, 2) this is where you can install an up to 128GB micro SD card for video storage, which is great if you want to store your videos locally and not have to pay a subscription. The door sensor in the S330 works great. Previously with the E330 the deadbolt would slide out with the door wide open after so many SECONDS. The only alternatives to this is to either set a schedule for a time of the day when the auto locking feature is not used or simply turn it off all together which completely defeats the point of having a "Smart" lock, in my humble opinion. Now, with the S330 the lock does in fact stay unlocked until you close the door, then the deadbolt slides into place. The disclaimer that was mentioned before had to do with the door still auto locking after 3 MINUTES time, whether the door is open or closed. I've now come to believe this is a fail safe for when the sensor may have miss the closed door event that would normally trigger the auto locking function immediately. In the case of a missed event then it would make sense to engage the lock after a set time "just in case". Either way you look at it, the lock now functions the way it's suppose to and locks and unlocks at reasonable times. Just a side note, the chime does allow for some pretty cool doorbell sounds that you can choose in the app. Speaking of the app it's very well thought out and intuitive with a robust set of features that allow you to customize your experience with the device in every practical way. Getting it on WiFi is a breeze and integrating it with Alexa is easy with the Eufy skill enabled. My only recommendations to potential buyers is 1) Try and wait for a sale on the products, whether you aim for the E330 or S330. These things are pricey and although I find that it is very useful and highly convenient, especially for larger families like mine, it is definitely a sizable investment for something that amounts to a security camera on steroids. On the other hand, it's a security camera on steroids! It allows you to monitor who enters your home or even approaches your home from afar be it your bedroom or a hotel room 1000 miles away. Number 2) Get an additional battery. Again your mileage may vary, but I've come to find that the 10000mAh battery that comes with these devices last a decent amount of time but takes a decent amount of time to charge. So, with that being said, it makes sense to have an extra battery on hand to charge while the other one is in use, set it aside until it's time to swap them out, end then go on your merry way. Both are fantastic smart locks, however the S330 is just far more practical to me. I highly recommend these products and I have to say Eufy customer service is out of this world. They have done a great job communicating with me and I feel they have been straight forward with me regarding their products. Also, I want to say I was the one that offered to rewrite the review IF the S330 met my needs and expectations, which it most certainly has. I rate the S330 5 stars, hands down. It checked all the boxes and looks great while doing it. My reasoning for my original 3 star rating for the E330 is mentioned below in the original review: ************************ This would be perfect had it not been for the absence of a door ajar feature. As some have said the E330 does not have this feature and the S330 does. For those who don't know, this feature is what tells the lock to not engage the auto lock feature until the door is closed. Without this feature the E330 is not smart enough to know that the door is open, so it just turns the deadbolt with the door wide open. The solution per the company is to turn the auto locking feature off which definitely defeats the purpose of having a "smart" lock. For the price one would think a feature like this would come standard, but I digress. Every other feature about this smart lock is very good and the quality is outstanding. The battery charge? Not long; a few months maybe. But then again I have kids going in and out all the time.

Excellent smart lock! I had a very expensive Kwikset biometric lock that I couldn't stand using any longer. I trust Eufy products as I have many Eufy items and they've all been working perfectly. This smart lock was very easy to install and the biometrics are very reliable. My old Kwikset didn't recognize my fingerprint after one day consistently. I got locked out so many times because of that Kwikset lock. With this Eufy, my finger print is recognized every single time and it is very quick to respond. AND!!! I love having the camera on it! I have it placed on the door to my garage. With this lock, I can easily see inside my garage via the app. It also can connect to Alexa. The touch controls are easy to used very responsive, hidden keyhole if needed, fast battery charging, recognizes fingerprints every time in heat or when wet from rain...what's not to love about this? The app is super easy to navigate too. If you have an Apple Watch, you can get alerts on your watch for entry, locking, battery percentage and detecting movement.

I have had this camera / doorbell smart lock installed in my for about 3 months now, and I like it for several reasons. There are no ongoing costs associated with it. Meaning you don't have to pay any annual fee for the benefit of having live video, two way communication, remote wifi control and real time alertes. There are many other options that provide the same benefits however you must pay a fee at some point. Yes the cost of entry is high but if you track this product you can purchase it at a reasonable price point. Reason number two: it has a clean sleek design that looks great on the door and the install was very easy and best of all no matter where you are you can control this smart lock. I live six months out of the year in Costa Rica and I have complete control from over 3,200 miles away. Thus far the battery pack has had no issues. I highly recommend you have some type of device like Alexa or a chime to enhance the volume of the doorbell. I chose not to purchase the chime and just intergrated the smart lock with my Alex. Eufy products are really great. Check out my reviews of their interior and exterior cameras.

I got this lock in late 2024. Less than a year later the outer layer of plastic began. To separate off the keypad, causing the keypad to register touch when no one was around. They sent me a new one and less than a year later it happened again and they won’t send a new one only give 20% off the next one because the warranty sits with the original order and not the life of the device. Software is good but hardware is bad. Even with it functioning properly the elements trigger the fingerprint sensor and it struggles to recognize my husbands finger.

18 month review. Dependable. Easy to install. Entry door is on a covered porch. No issues with fingerprint sensor or weather. Wifi cameras are not security devices. E330 is nevertheless a good wireless video doorbell. In 18 months of use no rebooting has been required. Upgrading the keyed lock cylinder is highly recommended. I discarded the fitted key lock cylinder and upgraded it to a high security bump and pick-resistant lock cylinder. This is easily accomplished by changing the lock cylinder out prior to mounting. Commercial grade cylinders are a slightly larger diameter. No problem. I bored the hole just enough to accept the new cylinder with a friction fit. No special skill needed. The lock housing is hefty aluminum with plenty of meat to hold the larger cylinder securely. Move the tail piece which drives the deadbolt over from the original cylinder. Use Homebase 3: It greatly extends the reliability and functionality without the need for monthly charges or subscriptions. Homebase 3 adds AI facial recognition and up to 16 TB of local storage when you insert a hard drive. I repurposed a drive from an old laptop. Settings and auto re-calibration: I moved the E330 camera lock to a door with the jam on the opposite side. This required re-calibration to allow the motor to change direction. With all motorized locks it is essential to have the deadbolt installed free of any binding. If your door and jam are drilled correctly and the deadbolt moves freely the automated set-up features of this smart lock do the rest. The lock is well automated to auto-calibrate from the device settings menu on the phone app. Loud clear voice prompts inform the installer of the need to adjust the install if the deadbolt is binding or not installed correctly. Customer Service: My lock is out of warranty yet I had no problem getting U.S. based tech-support on the phone as of this writing. On prompt I entered my phone number. An agent called me back within the hour. He was easy to understand, competent and able to guide me to the settings menu in the phone app to find the auto-calibration. If drilling an exterior door:. My new door had yet to be drilled for a standard deadbolt. Should you need to do the same, test the camera so that it is not placed too high on the door. This way the field of view will include more doorstep and less sky. Drilling for commercial backset sets the camera slightly inward from the door jam and is recommended. Battery life: has been excellent. I go months between charging but E330 is installed in a low traffic area with a small household and fewer lock cycles than average. The high capacity Li-ion battery has a USB type c port and an led to indicate charging which turns green when fully charged using an ordinary low power phone charger. The battery is easily removed for charging from the inside without tools where it is protected from extreme temperatures. Avoid dropping it on a hard surface which will shorten battery life. Motion sensing: Occasionally only the back of a delivery person is recorded as he leaves. Another user will make better use of the settings for sensitivity and highlighting only the squares where detection is required. When connected to Homebase 3 false alarms are reduced. The AI may be local and may require time for self-learning. Connectivity: My router and Homebase 3 are located at the other end of the house. I've never had any problem with connectivity or interference in our rural location. The android app is always running in the background. The phone rings when someone presses the button on the E330. So does Homebase 3. An optional chime can be connected. Alexa can stream video when connected. Latency is a few seconds. Away from home: the latency is significant. Push notifications may take a minute or more. Video recorded locally requires time to decrypt remotely. I'm often in weak cell signal areas and can't view videos. YMMV. Compatibility with Android and Xfinity is good. I do not use iphone. The build quality, ease of installation and the functionality when paired with Homebase 3 make the E330 a good value without the need for paying for a monthly subscription. The ability to easily upgrade the keyed lock cylinder to a bump and pick-resistant keyed lock cylinder is an important feature which is missing in other electronic locks.

I installed this lockset in June of 2024 to replace a Schlage unit that lacked fingerprint function. Since then I have had zero problems with it. I wanted the fingerprint function most of all and that has been almost perfect. We have 4 residents and everybody has multiple fingerprints registered (you never know which hand/finger will be easiest to use each time. It depends). The camera works just as it should, the doorbell function is good and the key cylinder is hidden away behind the doorbell to maybe slowdown lockpickers. Another function I like a lot is the ability to give contractors and such their own code with time and day windows (like M-W 8:00 am-4:00pm) and an expiration date. Of course it logs every activation by text and by video. It came in handy when we had paint and new floors done. And of course, you can unlock and relock the door remotely through the app which has also been helpful more than once. It does run on a proprietary battery pack with a built-in USB charging port which is something to consider. The battery lasts about 6 months between charges and give you plenty of verbal warning as it gets low. I bought a second battery (not too cheap - $65) so that I could always have one charged up and ready when the lady in the unit starts to complain about the charge level. It takes about 10 seconds to swap batteries. Anyway, I'm very happy with this unit. It works better that the Schlage lockset it replaced and has been flawless for the last 2 years.

I recently installed a smart lock on my front entry door, and it’s been a complete game-changer for convenience and security. The setup was straightforward, with clear instructions, and it integrated seamlessly with my existing deadbolt. I can lock and unlock the door directly from my phone, set unique codes for family members or guests, and even receive notifications whenever the door is accessed. The auto-lock feature is particularly reassuring—I never have to wonder if I forgot to secure the door. The build feels solid and durable, and the sleek design blends in well with my door hardware. Battery life has been impressive so far, and replacing the batteries is quick and easy. Overall, the smart lock has added both peace of mind and everyday convenience to my home. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their home security without sacrificing style or ease of use.

Love it. Easy to install and operate and it works great with door bell and video capabilities. Easy to control from the phone.

After needing to replace our old lock due to it malfunctioning and wanting a keyless entry system, I decided to give the Eufy Security Video Smart Lock E330 a go, and it has changed my life! Installation was simple, although it did not come with physical instructions. Instead, a QR code was provided that led to a step-by-step video installation guide, which I found great since it didn't waste paper. The video offered in-depth instructions for the installation, so it was fairly easy. All you really need is a screwdriver, and I was able to replace it in less than 30 minutes. Setting up the device using the Eufy application on my phone was simple. I already own an existing Eufy product, and so pairing it was easy since the app guides you on how to pair the device which only takes less than 5 minutes to do. Just make sure you have a strong WiFi connection for it to be able to connect to your internet. Key features that I love about the Eufy Security Video Smart Lock E330 is that you have the option to use fingerprint or code unlock, with the bonus of being able to lock and unlock the door using your mobile device, as long as you have an internet connection via cellular data or Wifi. In addition, you are also given a set of 2 keys, which is a plus! What I love about this product is that you can also monitor any activity that happens near the door via the built-in security camera by receiving notifications through the Eufy app on your mobile device. It will notify you if there is any activity within the camera's reach and will also notify you if someone locks/unlocks the door. You can also monitor the status of the door, so you can always check if you locked the door after leaving, which is my favourite feature yet! Even using the Eufy app on a mobile device is simple! You can tinker around with the settings to your liking to create an efficient experience. The battery consumption is fairly low and does not need to be charged that often. Packing a 10,000 mAH battery, surprisingly enough, after using it for almost a month, I haven't needed to charge it. If so, it is fairly simple. You can remove the battery from the inside by sliding the cover up and charging it with a USB-C cable with the provided port built into the battery itself. It took me around 30 minutes, but this depends on your charging speeds via cable and power adapter. If you forget to charge the device, you have the option to unlock the door with a key or simply plug in a portable charger via USB-C at the front to give it some juice to unlock the door. The app will also remind you if it is low on battery, so the chances of it dying on you are very low, which is what I love about this product. A couple of flaws I had were that it does not have a backup battery system, aka AA batteries, unlike the higher models, so when you do need to charge the device, you would have to remove the battery, and the lock won't function electronically unless you have purchased an extra battery pack. You can still use it as a regular door lock with the keys provided until you reattach the battery. If you have a storm door, this may cause a bit of an issue for some. It covers part of the door due to the placement of the lock, and so viewing the camera through the Eufy app will show half of the storm door. Another issue with having a storm door is that when it senses activity at night or when you view the camera through the Eufy app, the onboard light turns on and reflects off the glass, onto the camera lens, causing you to not see anything from the camera. You can probably disable this feature by tinkering with the settings on the Eufy app and relying on its built-in night vision. Another issue that I have is that if you have scuffed fingers, you won't be able to unlock the door via fingerprint and would have to use the code lock or the provided keys. While most of these are very minor issues that can easily be work around via the Eufy app or using the provided keys, the one thing that I wish it had was expandable storage via a micro SD card. Although it has a built-in 8 GB of storage, it would be nice to have more storage to store more activity recorded clips if you ever need to view a specific clip from months ago. There is an option to purchase the Eufy Homebase, which can store up to 16 TB of external storage, which might not be worth it for those who own a single Eufy device such as this one. Overall, I find that using the Eufy Security Video Smart Lock E330 is a game-changing product! I never have to sift through my keys trying to unlock the door. The biggest feature is being able to check to see if I locked the door after leaving, and if so, I can simply lock or unlock the door via the Eufy app with ease. You have scuffed fingers or forgot the code lock combination? You can use your phone to unlock the door through the Eufy app! You also have the option to use the provided keys, which is a bonus! I highly recommend this product, especially paired with other Eufy products to create an efficient and secure experience!

Excelente.

This door lock is great! I have teenagers who constantly lose there keys, so this has definitely been the best solution.

Looks and works great

The Eufy Security Video Smart Lock E330 is hands-down one of the best smart home purchases I’ve made. The 3-in-1 functionality—doorbell, camera, and fingerprint lock—works flawlessly and has made coming and going so much easier. The fingerprint reader is fast and accurate, and I love that I can remotely unlock the door through the app if someone needs to get in while I’m away. The built-in camera and doorbell are super clear, even at night, and the motion alerts are prompt without being annoying. Setup was surprisingly easy too—no wiring nightmares or professional help needed. It auto-locks behind me, which gives great peace of mind, and the app is user-friendly with all the features you’d expect (and a few I didn’t know I needed). Highly recommend this for anyone wanting a secure, smart, and convenient upgrade to their front door.
