Red Hot Rhythm & Blues

The product arrived looking great, both CDs were labeled Disc 1 and Disc 2 with the appropriate track info on them. However, when I put Disc 2 (the remix disc) into my player, it only had the same songs that were on Disc 1 (the album) - Luckily I caught this in time and was able to replace it immediately, and the replacement had the correct music on Disc 2 (the remixes) but this is the FOURTH Diana Ross Expanded Edition CD I've purchased that has had serious issues with either the labeling being incorrect, the encoding being bad (electronic squealing instead of the music) or the encoding being incorrect entirely (I've had issues with 'Swept Away", "Eaten Alive" and "Silk Electric") - Shame on whoever did quality control for these deluxe re-issues, Miss Ross deserves so much better. Take my advice and LISTEN to the CDs IMMEDIATELY when you get them... if they are incorrect you can return them. If you wait to listen (like I did) you will be stuck with bad discs. :(

I too have had the same issues with the CD2 however what I now realize is that even though the writing on the disc is correct and the names come up that way when you start the play the disc (which CD1 has 13 tracks) the remixed CD2 songs ARE recorded on the disc but the timing is off for the remixes so the first song is over 7 minutes but the song only shows it as being the same length as song 1 on CD1 and beings the remixed song 1 on CD2 is longer than 4 minutes it just goes into the next song and then you get a sound drop when it changes to the next song in the middle of song 2. That's why the disc shows the same track song number as CD1 and none of the songs start and end when they are supposed to. My first order came without CD2 so I returned, second order came as described as above, waiting for order three. Same issue on Swept away as well. It's crazy they don't inspect the CD's and you have to return them this many times. I hope to get a correct one. Amazon wouldn't return Swept Away with just a replacement so I have to return and then purchase another one completely. I had to call in to Amazon for the 2nd one to get replaced on this set because it was my second one I needed to return

I already had this cd but bought it again because of it being 'expanded edition' . 12inch singles of Dirty Looks, Shockwaves & Mr. Lee are great additions. Shockwaves wasn't available as a single when I first purchased the album and Mr. Lee remixes on vinyl cost $8.99 at the time.Summertime is one of Diana's finest ballads she's ever done in my opinion. Tell Me Again, Selfish One & It's Hard For Me To Say are also great plus Dirty Looks is the first single from the album and the extended version is fantastic - even the instrumental version is included.A TV special of Red Hot Rhythm & Blues was aired at the time too. Etta James, Billy Dee Williams, Little Richard & LL Cool J appeared with her. It was LL Cool J's first appearance on a TV special. Diana, as always, turned in a fine performance.A must for any Diana Ross fan or collector.

Summertime. That song alone is worth the price. Amazing!!

Interesting look at an 80's Diana Ross album with lot's of remixes. The remixes make it worth the 2nd look.

I HATED the singles released from this album. Fortunately there are some great album tracks that are far superior and hold up well after 30 years. Nowhere near her Motown greats of the 70s but worth adding to the collection

Great album and a bit different to Diana Rosses usual releases happy with purchase definitely recommend.

Diana's final album for RCA and it is in my opinion one of the best. No major hits but excellent songs and performances.

How I love this album, although it differs in running order from the European version. Great added tracks.
