Color me Impressed
Works as advertised. Unless you are doing hundreds of connections at a clip, this manual version is more than adequate not to mention affordable. This is perfect for that homeowner that wants to do minor repairs around the house, without relying on a plumber. Like many, I grew up sweating pipes with no issues, but as many of us know, sometimes it becomes challenging. Either it's a tight spot surrounded by flammable materials, or you just can't find a good way to remove all of the moisture from the pipes, this is when a ProPress is perfect. I avoided this for years, first because of the expense, and second I was ok with sweating pipes. But had to replace a broken pipe filling my pool that was coming through my house exterior and then buried into the ground. Well, anyway, I couldn't fully drain the pipes and as a result, couldn't get enough heat into the joint to sweat the pipes. After removing the bad section, the pipe ends were not only misaligned, they varied in angles when forced together. Didn't have time to sort out (replace) the entire system, so I just slipped on the ProPress 1" connector, forced the two ends to kind of line up, and got everything into position. After setting the connector with the press, the pipes straightened out, but you knew there was a lot of forces on both pipes, and frankly, I wasn't hopeful. But to my amazement, it held. If it works under this less than optimal Rube Goldberg installation, I have to believe it will work most times. The tool will allow you to pump the hydraulic a number of times, but will come to a hard stop when done. Holding the tool in alignment wasn't hard, and appeared it self centered once you got started. Just check for crimp marks on both sides of the O ring and it should be water tight. The tool covers most household pipe and Pex sizes for the average homeowner. Good tool to have for that next project.

Got it for repair work, especially 'can't get dry' pipes. or 'it won't move pipes"
I needed a backup to my soldering, expensive shark connections, and screw on compression work. The head is quite large so there is a limit on where you can use it. The connectors I got slide all the way in (even w the stop dimple) so repairing a wet line now has another option w this tool. Easy to assemble, easy to use. Even a beginner can use this. ....Got this w the extra set of clamp heads just in case I go that route. For now, I use the Q shaped crimps on my pex w a much smaller tool, but the O crimps seem smoother. We'll see.....

What a time saver and quality product
What a great product I wish I knew about this before I soldered another project that took me forever because water was still in the pipes. Yes, it weighs a little bit and honestly, you need to try a few sample pieces before you start to use it however, I only tried it twice and then I put together some piping. I needed it for my outside faucet that was leaking during the winter. Iโve had absolutely no leaks. This tool is extremely versatile worth the money and honestly really easy to use. Itโs a high-quality product in my opinion. My buddy is already asking to borrow it.

Very good for small repairs but if you Doing a lot of replacement or new install definitely wanna step up and get an electric I ended up having to rent one I had over 200 to do on a long weekend. Iโm holding onto it for repairs. It is a nice unit and a great storage case.
