Replaced my expensive Hobart helmet. The Hobart is now retired.............
This helmet so far works Very well. Image is crisp and colors are pretty good. I have gone through several different helmets trying to clean sharp and lightened colored screen that allows me to see the welds and material better during fabrication. This thing even outperforms my Hobart helmet! I only have one complaint: Some men like me have a large head. If this is You, be advised the helmet will fit "Tight" because it is a little small. It does offer good coverage though and has a pretty decent head strap sytem once you get it adjusted............I really can't complain for the price. I Would buy it again!

Cheap but works great!
When I took it out of the box, I was surprised how light it was, and it actually seemed kind of flimsy. Once it sat outside the box for 24 hours and I decided not to return it but to give it a try, I was pleasantly surprised. I have never used one of these new full color helmets before, but I was absolutely amazed. I cannot believe how clearly you can see what your welding. The problem I was having with my two other helmets was that I could not lighten the lens enough to see my weld very well when welding, thin metal at low amperage. Compared to the nice Miller auto darkening helmet that was $200 twenty years ago this helmet is quite the upgrade. Since I am retired and just building stuff to amuse myself, I think this helmet will be great. My guess is that an employee could destroy it in no time at all, but maybe I would be surprised.

Excellent hood, professional grade!
This is a rad hood. It’s my second from this brand. I use it almost every day. My last one , after two years of solid use and abuse, the front screen cracked, and the lens was getting damaged and it was hard to see out of. I couldn’t find any replacement front screens, so I decided to just get another one. This one is just like the last one, except it has CTHULU on it! Who doesn’t want a rad monster on their hood???? People dig it , I dig it, it’s everything I could need. It’s not a Miller/Lincoln/etc that costs $300-500 bucks. It’s a hood that will last multiple years of daily use, and costs 1/5 of that. And it’s got an Eldritch horror on it !

A great helmet. Surprisingly clear.
This helmet is really, really good. You can see so well out of it and the window is so large. It's kind of frustrating I bought a Hobart brand name welder and helmet 10 years or so ago. It was the Blaze helmet. The controls kind of sucked, the window was narrow, couldn't see out of it very well. And the screen recently went bad from sitting. But the helmet looked great. You look at the cost of Miller helmets, Hobart helmets, any replacement parts for these. ($120 for replacement lens assembly) Nothing they offer is even competitive. They have fallen back to the Apple pricing strategy, when they could compete. And then you think about what it is. What does it cost? Are they including some kind of better technology? Better controls? Anything! And they're not. It's literally molded plastic with a standardized square in the front. Beyond that, you source or make a lens and you insert it. This doesn't cost hundreds of dollars.

Nice clear viewing but.......
First let me say I don't weld for a profession, if I did, this would not be the helmet I would use. I'm just a guy that's been welding out of necessity for 30 yrs, with that being said, this is my 1st true color lid. It's so much better than the green/grey scale. There are lots of adjustments for sensitivity and shade darkness and they work pretty well. It also comes with a extra battery and protective lenses which is a bonus. Unfortunately after about 2 hrs of use the tightening ratchet on the back of the helmet quit holding the position and basically stripped out. No big deal, get a hold of the manufacturer's customer service and then let Amazon know what's going on....... I'm starting to get pissed off because for almost 2 weeks, it's been radio silence. I sure hope someone reads this and contacts me soon. I will change my rating if someone from Amazon and or Arccaptain actually responds and makes this right. Update - both Amazon and Arccaptain contacted me and made everything right. Change5v y

A+ for the $. Nice and clear to see out of when not welding
Awesome bang for buck. No more green screen like older welding helmets. This is like looking through sunglasses. The head band is very comfortable.

Super cool design! Meets all safety standards!
The ARCCAPTAIN Welding Helmet is a solid choice for welders who prioritize safety, comfort, and clear vision. The auto-darkening filter with its four arc sensors offers excellent adaptability, making it easy to switch between ARC, MIG, and TIG welding. The filter’s shade and sensitivity adjust quickly, allowing for a seamless transition between light and dark states (DIN4 for light, DIN5-9/9-13 for dark). This level of customization is a huge plus for working in varied lighting conditions. For eye protection, the helmet provides constant UV/IR protection up to DIN 16, offering reassurance against harmful glare. The true-color technology in the optical lens is exceptional, bringing a clear and natural view through the 3.93" x 3.66" screen. This clarity makes it easier to work with precision and reduces eye strain. The helmet is impressively lightweight, weighing just 2 pounds, which really reduces neck fatigue during long welding sessions. The headgear is adjustable and comes with breathable padding, adding to the comfort. Durability is also top-notch; the helmet is built from strong, flame-resistant PP material and meets multiple safety standards (ANSI Z87.1, EN379 CE, CSA Z94.3). It’s powered by a solar cell with a replaceable CR2450 lithium battery, which supports extended use and is eco-friendly. Overall, the ARCCAPTAIN Welding Helmet combines effective eye protection, visual clarity, and comfort. It’s a reliable choice for anyone looking for a high-performing welding helmet that holds up in tough conditions.
