It’s perfect and so far has worked like I expected.

How difficult is it to make a device that can easily be used by left-handed or right-handed people? This thermometer appears to work well enough, but it's hard to tell because I have a hard time using it.

This is so convenient to use, easy to clean. Flip out the probe, insert and read. I do not use my other ones anymore.

Dead on arrival. Digital display said "LLL" which I thought meant that the battery was dead (i.e. low) but the seller has since told me it means that the unit is defective due to an electrical short. That's obviously a quality control issue. Also, the battery looks very difficult to replace anyway when it does eventually die - it really shouldn't be that difficult to replace a battery. I returned for a refund and the seller also was kind enough to send me an Amazon gift card for my troubles.
