Fabulous for Large Garden Tubs!
Perfect solution! This bench/shower chair fits length-wise inside a large, deep garden tub when nothing else did. I LOVE this sturdy, well-designed, non-slip bench. I severely fractured my ankle and have been non-weight-bearing for 3 months. The hospital Occupational Therapist wrongly insisted that I buy a shower seat, which turned out to be wobbly and extremely dangerous. So, I was thrilled to have found this beautiful, safe bench/shower chair. The 4 adjustable legs ensure that it fits perfectly, even in a tub with a slightly contoured bottom. This allows me to easily slide from the wide garden tub edge safely onto this sturdy bench/shower chair. It is easy to clean, does not mold, and has no metal to rust. It is easily portable will also fit in the traditional set up outside/inside a a standard bathtub. Amazon, please make this much more visible in search results. It took me several hours to find this wonderful product.

I LOVE this shower seat - 100 gold stars
I bought this in Feb. 2021, and here it is, May 2023. This review is long overdue. I bought the chair to help me maneuver with a broken ankle. I still use it just as a comfort source for stability in the shower. It was perfect for my broken ankle phase. I wanted a seat that would be incredibly sturdy, and, even though I don't need this, the 400-lb weight support on this seat really adds to the "sturdy" feel. The seat also gives me what I want into terms of width (from wall to outside tub), which is that I wanted as little space as possible between the outside tub wall and the outside legs. The 30-inch width is perfect. Many products show several inches of space - a gap between the tub wall and the outside legs, but I have space problems in the bathroom in general so those extra inches would have been not only useless and in the way, but also a trip risk. What I used the chair for when I had a broken ankle: I could sit on the edge of the seat outside the tub. Great height for sitting and standing with a broken ankle. Sitting this way was like sitting on the edge of the tub. From there I put the plastic bag over my tall boot, secured it to be waterproof, then I swiveled myself 90 degrees as I lifted my leg over the tub wall and into the shower. A bit of scooting over to the center of the chair. From there I could stand and shower, and if at any moment I needed to sit, I sat. I had taken many measurements of my old and odd-shaped tub that dictated the specifications the chair would need to have: 1. Height from floor of tub to top of tub outside side (to make sure that the legs of the chair could be raised/adjusted enough to fit over the tub wall). 2. Width of seat. I needed 30 inches from the wall to the outside tub edge (because the inner wall of this odd tub is sloped at an angle, which affected where the bottom of the seat legs would rest, which would affect how far out from the top the seat legs would be). I must have scanned 100 pages in Amazon to find this particular seat. I don't know why it doesn't populate higher up? I suggest the seller figure out the algorithms or whatever is involved to change this, and get this chair higher up! Cannot recommend this any more strongly - it will be with me forever.

Good enough for the hospital, good enough for my home.
After spending a few days in the hospital after surgery and an additional week at a rehabilitation hospital, I needed a shower chair for my transition home. My wife and I had bought other shower chairs before. We enjoyed a bamboo seat for about a year until it started to come unglued, pinching us when we sat on it, and it turned out it wasnt as mold resistant as we thought. Then we tried a plastic seat with aluminum legs that was never comfortable and the legs filled with water that got very gross before suddenly giving way like a crushed soda can one day. But this chair has been the absolute best shower chair we've ever had. Having used this exact chair for my time in rehab, I was pleased to find them available on Amazon. This chair may look like cheap PVC, but it is extremely sturdy. I weight 350lbs and it doesn't give at all. It's easy to clean. There's no places for water to get inside. The screw-in legs are easy to adjust and can be adjusted independently if your floor slopes toward the drain, so you can have a level seat. It is also lightweight making it easy to lift and move if you share the shower with others who don't need it. It was good enough for the hospital, and I liked it enough to seek one out for my home. I have enjoyed it ever since.

Great shower bench
This bench is absolutely great. We have a small tub, and because this is a bench and it sits both in the bathtub and also out on the floor it works so well. We've had it since mid April 2023. The legs are great and haven't had and problems with slipping and sliding. They haven't left black marks in out tub. It supports at least up to 200lbs. It is easy to move back and forth on to get in and out of the tub safely. It doesn't slide around, even when I stand up and sit back down in the shower. Putting it together was extremely easy. My 14 year old son had it together in under 10 minutes. I read so many reviews on Amazon for different shower chairs and benches, all of had so many negative reviews. I can attest that this bench is a good solid bench that I have had no problems or issues with.

Solid and well-designed
Sturdy, well-designed bench that is easy to assemble, easy to adjust and stable on its legs. Has holes in seat for draining water during and after use. The back rest stays in place and there’s a handle on the far right of the seat to grab if needed. It can also be used to hang a catheter drainage bag if necessary. This is the same bench I have seen at a top rated physical rehabilitation hospital and it performs really well for people who need a safe, stable shower bench

Literally THE BEST AND cheapest transfer bench - especially for small bathrooms with tubs
This item is buried in Amazon's algorithm for some reason. If you have a small bathroom with uneven floors, or something like a garden tub where the tub slopes and the sides are quite wide and high, this is exactly what you need. It hold a large amount of weight, and each leg is independently adjustable with a rubber bottom. The backrest is nice and wide and can switch sides. On mine we have it set up so the handle and soap dish are inside the tub facing the shower head and bathtub faucet and the backrest is behind, and we already had a dual showerhead with a magnettic wall attachment for the second showerhead at an easily accessible height for baths as well as for bathing the cat and dogs. Since we rent a 1-bdrm apartment we really can't go installing proper grab bars and the suction ones can be quite dangerous as I've learned from personal experience, even following the directions to a T during installation (all of a sudden you hear a crash and it's the grab bar falling on the floor for no reason at random - which is scary when you think about how that could have been you instead when you went to shower a half hour earlier and needed to use it!). It drains and dries quickly and doesn't occupy much space outside the tub at all - and if placed in the right location and you have some ability to move yourself with the toilet close to the bath you can maneuver from the bench to the top of the toilet seat. As an added bonus, the height of the bench and the curvature of it makes it easier to get up from the toilet as opposed to using the edges of the garden tub itself. The only issue I've found is the shower curtain liner can go inside the tub in front of the bench and behind the bench but has to go outside the tub directly around the bench - unless of course you buy maybe 2 or 3 separate smaller liners while in need of the shower bench? Otherwise the floor and other items do tend to get a bit wet and slippery and even a memory foam mat will just get soaked with water. But I am not going to complain much about that as at least I can shower by myself now (for the most part - I do need to make sure my partner is home in case I need help with something), and I can easily reach all my supplies and our removable shower head you can turn off to conserve water so I don't end up taking a cold shower. I love how lightweight and portable this is too - not for me in my current state, just in general. Also how I wish I'd found it sooner when my partner had knee surgery and had difficulty showering so was taking baths with his leg outside the tub. and had to figure out how to get out afterward. I mean... even if I hadn't severely injured my ankle this is great for people with dysautonomia or other heart conditions where you might drown if you take a bath but often feel faint while showering, and sometimes actually experience syncope while showering and have fallen due to that - which I have numerous times. I feel SO MUCH SAFER! I could shave my legs now if I want to! I just need to figure out how to keep all the water in the tub in the area around the bench. Hopefully someone else's review has a tip or trick for this.

SIMPLE TO ASSEMBLE / SIMPLE TO USE
I bought this for my mom, as she struggles to get in and out of the tub. Her previous "shower chair" fit inside the tub, so she had to climb over the edge to reach it. This always worried me, as it was primetime for a fall. Her bathroom is tiny, and she uses a wheelchair, so we couldn't get her anything that would extend too far into the floor space, so I hoped this would be the perfection solution; it was! I was able to assemble it in about 5 minutes -- which included the time it took to adjust the height of the legs! There are NO screws required and even someone with arthritic hands can put this together! We both commented that it "HAD to be designed by a woman" (don't get bent out of shape, guys) because it's simple, elegant, smooth and sturdy. There are no sharp edges -- everything has large, rounded edges, so you don't get pinched or bruised -- and it's super easy to adjust the height and set up for entry on either side. We were going work with insurance to get approval for a transfer seat, but decided that the time it would take to potentially get an inferior product was worth the cost of this UNDER $100 seat! As it turns out, this was a super smart investment and I can rest easy now, knowing my mom can sit on the seat before transferring to the tub. Thanks, CAREX. You designed a WONDERFUL product. Oh, and she appreciates the fact that it's clean white, instead of medical grey!

Easy to put together, easy to install in the tub
It took me about 15 minutes to unpack it and put it together. No tool required! I've been using a transfer bench since the mid-90s. This bench has been the easiest to put together... Furthermore, this is the first time, I repeat, the first time ever I will be using a transfer bench high enough for me. (ok, I am tall.. ) An other very positive thing about it: the slip resistant tips allow for a better installation in the middle of the tub. With traditional transfer bench the very Iarge suction cups were always pushing the seat off center... I was ending up very close to the left side of the tub. As they are screw-in I could adjust it just the way I like it... a very slight tilt to the right so that the water falling on the seat naturally runs off back into the tub. No more risers on the floor! The slip resistant tips also make it easy to handle the bench if someone else wanted to take a bath for example... I did not install the 2 inserts... as I wish again for a better drainage while showering. I don't think they have any structural role. The soap dish is a nice addition. My waterproof bluetooth speaker will have a permanent place... I can't take my cell in the shower but I can answer my phone if need be. This bench looks and feels very sturdy not wobbly at all when I sit on it with my feet on the floor... not wobbly when I slide in position and move around while showering... I haven't figured out exactly how to place the shower curtain... the split curtain hack does not work... I have some ideas... I I'll get back with an edit... if I figure out something better than simply tucking the liner under my butt! I lied to you... the cut liner hack works but differently. Instead of threading the liner cut flap, I just fold it neatly at my side. I haven't flooded the floor. I also secure the part of the shower curtain behind with magnets.

Very sturdy and safe.
Safe and secure feeling while showering. Excellent. If you need a shower chair, you should buy this one because you will eventually need a transfer chair. And this is the one I recommend.

Good Design
Sturdy, solid, good design. I like that it's all plastic, no worries about rust. Legs can be adjusted for height individually (helps if there's a thick bath mat in front of the bath tub). Shower curtain needed to be cut around the part of the bench that sticks out of the bath tub, but that's the only inconvenience of this purchase and all in all it's a very useful device.
