How much of the 1kg block would be required for sale for katsu for 2 people and how much water? Box says instructions for the whole 1kg

I usually use 4-6 blocks when I cook for 2. More blocks more thicker and more spicy. The amount for water I put is to cover all the veg and meat plus extra cup to make more sauce. The best way is to put 4 blocks and when your veg are cooked and you think your sauce is not thick enough or not spice enough you can add extra blocks to make as you like. Just remember to not put too many at fist time is it will get to thick after cooking. Hope that helps. Java is really delicious 👌

Is this better than the s&b golden curry mix?

it is just as good both House and S&B are major brands in Japan it depends on your personal taste I bought this from Amazon because of the price but when I can I go to a Japanese supermarket which is quite a distance from my home I usually buy S&B torokeru curry the blue one now I buy both them

When is the expiration date on these? Worried they would expire before I finish all of it.

I got mine in February this year and have checked the date. It expires in November 2018. I never thought to check the date. Silly me! It is a big packet and would possibly last you a long time, but keep in fridge or I think you can freeze as well. Use as and when in that case.
