Mcbazel High-Definition TV Component Composite AV Audio Video Cable for Classic Original Xbox

Having connected my Xbox to my 42inch HD TV the quality over the standard composite cables was pretty shocking. Whilst playable the graphics were fuzzy and lacking clarity. Since I’ve switched to this component cable the results are amazing! Sure your not going to magically get HD resolutions out of your Xbox all of a sudden but the graphics are so much clearer. Total cost was around £10 but was delivered the next day so would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to use their original Xbox with a large flatscreen TV

Does the job well. Some noise visible in dark scenes, but good at this price point.

I already have some genuine Microsoft Advances AV cables but needed some extra ones for everyday use. The quality of the cable is excellent for the price. Some of these cheaper cables can suffer with poor screening resulting in causing interference/lines on the screen but these cables seem well screened and the picture quality is perfect. One other thin I didn't mention is that the cable is a decent length and the connectors are a nice tight fit. If you don't need optical out then these are great budget cables.

Well you get what you pay for. I needed one to test a few Xbox consoles and was intrigued to see what the wires were like inside. It’s cheap for a reason., the wires are very thin and they’re using 1 wire for all the grounds on every single plug. More than likely to keep costs down. I knew I would be keeping it after testing the cable & seeing it was working. The colours on the tv are definitely washed out as others have pointed out. But you see why when you look at the inside of the connector. One single black wire which takes the full load of the ground, they’ve then put a jumper wire between the black and another pad which is the ground of the audio. So if you really want crisp ‘high def’ I’d suggest paying extra for a better quality cable or even getting the MakeMhz hdmi mod.

Recently repurchased an original xbox and wanted to see what these are like on the TV compared to normal composite cables. One thing to keep in mind, is that the 480p, 720p, 1080i video options for PAL consoles (UK/EU xbox consoles) were disabled by Microsoft (who knows why). These were only available for NTSC (US/Japan) console owners. This isn't a problem if you have a soft-modded Xbox, as you can download an app (Enigmah videoswitcher) for the xbox that allows you to switch the consoles region freely from PAL to NTSC, opening up the 480p, 720p and 1080i options for you. Googles your friend (should you want to check that out). My point is, if you run these cables on an un-modded PAL console you may see a *slight* difference in colours (to a certain degree), but you wouldn't get 480p, 720p or 1080i out. You'd get 576i MAX. Back to the cables... Cables are of good quality actually, no need to buy overpriced ''Microsoft AV HD pack'' cables or the ''Monster cables'' you've maybe seen / heard about online. These cables here do the job perfectly. A bargain at £6 imo, considering some of the ''official'' cables go for £silly. I set my console to NTSC, went into video options and selected to enable 480p and 720p (I left 1080i unchecked as there are only a few games that actually support 1080i out) and the difference is night and day. The component cables make the colours a lot richer, the image less blurry and produces a nice crisp image.

Does improve image quality from composite but non cable is not shielded meaning a lot of shimmer on screen and image can look fuzzy. I'd recommend using the official MS AV Pack

I bought this but am returning it and will buy a more expensive component cable instead. It is functional and gives a picture, but in my personal opinion the quality of the image is mediocre. Using a more expensive rgb scart cable I was able to get deep blacks. Using the component cable the blacks had a haziness and looked more like grey. Compare the two images. Still, if you're on a budget it may be acceptable to you. Not a bad cable but you get what you pay for.

La differenza in termini di qualità del segnale è già un gran passo avanti, poi poter avere 480p e 720p è la classica ciliegina. Al primo inserimento non l'ha visto (led arancio lampeggiante), al successivo inserimento schermo nero. Tolto e reinserito da entrambi i lati e tutto è andato come doveva. La qualità dei connettori RCA non è quella del prodotto originale, ovviamente. Probabilmente la schermatura del cavo andrebbe migliorata, dato che ogni volta che il frigorifero parte si vede il disturbo nel segnale video.

¡Este cable es absolutamente imprescindible para cualquier propietario de Xbox Original! Sin embargo hay una condición muy especial con la que podrías llamarlo "perfecto". Su Xbox debería poder emitir una señal de video en modo NTSC. Lo que la mayoría de las Xbox europeas no pueden hacer, esto se debe a que todas son PAL. Pero si su Xbox está modificada, entonces puede usar una determinada aplicación para cambiar el modo de salida de video a NTSC. Con este modo obtendrás los modos de alta definición 480p, 720p y 1080i. Como línea final, recomiendo este cable, hace muy bien su trabajo. Pero aún recuerda que una gran parte de la funcionalidad del cable depende de la parte del software de la Xbox.

the cable gives a much better picture on tv, buy if you don't already have component cable
