Steinel Twilight Switch NightMatic 2000 Black, Photoelectric Lighting Controller, Automatic Night-Time Lighting

I've bought a few of these over the years for various outdoor lights around our house. They are really easy to install and adjust, and work exactly as intended. Our original sensor from two years ago is still going strong. I did try the upgraded 3000 model, but I found the 2000 model much more simple to use as it allows you to override the lights and turn them off without it messing up any learning function (as the 3000 model has). It also means when you turn the lights back on, the sensor hasn't reset and just works. If you never need to overide the light you can just leave them switched on safe in the knowledge that they will come on at night and go off in the morning. Super useful. If you are using this to replace an existing dusk to dawn sensor, you will find this super easy to install. If you are installing the sensor to an existing light circuit, you will need to have some electrical knowledge or get a professional in.

This is the right switch, even if artificial light shines on it, it will still turn on correctly and turn off correctly. Best dusk to dawn switch I've ever bought, worth the money, bought some cheaper ones, you know the ones, that come in a blue box or is blue or is black in an oval shape, each one of them failed miserably.

Good product, well made. Easy to set up and great performance (i.e. Sensitivity & coverage). Rather more expensive, compared to other products available - hence 4-star rating - but needed as replacement of near identical unit that developed a fault (albeit 10 years old) to ensure same fixings and wiring configuration.

Easy setup,and works perfectly

I have swapped onto low wattage LED lamps and my PIR detector was wearing out so the switching of the circuit was already sorted. The installation was easy although the fixing points are in line with the rear entry for the cables. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but the PIR I replaced was a retro fit so the cables were run in the mortar joint between the bricks so I've only been able to fix it to the wall with one screw. As far as the reliability its been up a month and turns the lights on at dusk and off by dawn. The unit feels solid and looks waterproof although I would have preferred a gromit connection to be sure. I do have another of these on a different circuit that has been up a year and is faultless too.

If you print the instuction that should me with the product, be ready to print all 40 pages, to find anything in English. I am still to make it work!

Didn't realise this is a simple dusk to dawn photocell - I wanted it to switch off after a timed period. Sent it back and got a Nightmatic 3000 which is what I should have got in the first place.

This is a good product to buy if you want to illuminate the outside of your property when you're not there. I have 3 outside lights connected to it and they automatically come on at dusk and go off again at dawn, just leave it switched on and it needs no further attention. Very good for when you're on holiday too. The item was delivered quickly and I would buy this product again.

Ottimo prodotto e installazione semplice. Ci ho messo un po' a trovare la giusta regolazione per far si che le luci collegate si accendessero/spegnessero quando desiderato, ma niente di trascendentale: basta infatti aprire la scatola e ruotare un potenziometro. Soddisfatto.

Der Steinel NightMatic 2000 ist ein zuverlässiges Gerät, einfach in der Handhabung und im Anschluss. Neben dem Gerät selbst erhält man einen Quick Start Guide (beschreibt u.a. den Anschluss des Schalters an das Netz), Produktinformationen, und das Befestigungsmaterial (Schrauben, Dübel etc.) Der Anschluss der vier Leitungen erfolgt über die vier Schnellklemmen (von rechts nach links: Phase Zuleitung, Neutral Zuleitung, Phase geschaltet und Neutral für den zu schaltenden Verbraucher). Zusätzlich ist eine Schraubklemme für den Schutzleiter vorhanden. Da es Dämmerungsschalter gibt, die nur einen einzigen Nullleiter verwenden, ist die Information über den Aufbau des Steinel 2000 möglicherweise interessant und es wäre ggf. zu prüfen, welcher Schalter sich für Ihre Installation eignet. Das Gerät selbst ist absolut unkompliziert. Der Ein- / Ausschaltmoment lässt sich ohne Werkzeug mit dem kleinen Stellrad links der Schnellklemmen individuell bestimmen. Zwischen 2 und 30 Lux Umgebungshelligkeit geht bei Dämmerung das Licht automatisch an – und bei Tagesanbruch wieder aus. Der Steinel NightMatic 2000 ist in Weiß und in Schwarz erhältlich, so dass er sich weitestgehend an den Untergrund anpasst, auf dem er befestigt wird. Grüße aus Hamburg
