Hmmmm black or white skull?! Which looks better?

It is personal preference. The white one is the original and sells better but the black one looks really cool.

Would this be able to hold brushes? Make up brushes etc

I wouldn't have thought so, it is actually quite shallow, so unless you want the brushes to lay flat I wouldn't recommend it - great for general bits and pieces (keys, loose change, lipsticks, hair clips etc.).

Could I use this as an ashtray?

You probably could if it's a sturdy plastic.... I would advise it but theres not harm in trying as long as you keep an eye on it and actually stub ciggys out properly. Once it builds up a couple layers of ash then it might be alight

Is the wooden hand adjustable?

I actually bought the black hand many years ago and was very disappointed. I couldnt move the fingers and I returned it the next day. But the wooden one might be different
