Plantronics HIS-1 Adapter Cable

I bought this in 2012 for as a replacement for one I lost while working in customer service. I used it with a Plantronics SupraPlus wideband binaural headset. This was an OEM replacement part and worked very well for many years. It still works, but I haven't needed it for awhile. These things are not indestructible and they are prone to topological solitons (reverse coiling), but damn do they stretch: you can easily walk over 18 feet (5.5 meters) from where it's plugged in without pulling stuff off your desk. I believe this comes with an RJ14 modular connector (4 pins on the part that plugs into the phone, not the headset) and I've included a picture for those who are interested in seeing it. There's nothing special about the construction of the connector, so it will break if abused. Nothing a wad of tape can't fix, right? If you're unsure whether this will fit your headset, figure out which headset you're using first. Don't try to work backwards with this kind of stuff. I know there are also 4 pins on the part that plugs into the headset, but that is surely some type of proprietary design the compatiblity of which I cannot speak. Overall, this was a very reliable product well worth the money spent.

Perfect fix to my avaya up phone headset connection issue. The only issue being that this cable didn't come with my headset to begin with (which had nothing to do with this item or this vendor)

Great adapter cord for using a Plantronics headset with an Avaya IP Office phone system. Quality made and have bought many of these for my office.

I ordered a HIS headset cable, which is compatible with the Avaya 96XX series IP phones, among others. What I received was a HIC headset cable, which is compatible with an entirely different class of phones (Avaya digital phones). The cables look similar, and have the same Quick Disconnect connector on the side where your headset plugs in, but the modular connectors are not cross-compatible. I would avoid buying this product here.

This type of thing is essentially a go or no-go. In this case, it gets the job done, works fine. Also, the length is adequate/good to be comfortable to use but not too long.

This cable with a Headset Hw251 Plantronic's worked on the Avaya 1610 phone. I had tried many other headsets but this was the only combination that worked.

I work in a call center. My employer provided inexpensive headsets. Got tired of clients asking me to speak up, or me asking them to repeat something. I actually had a 10 yr old plantronics headset in my briefcase and ordered this so that I could use it. My employer has since purchased new Plantronics headsets for the entire call center.

Works great with my Avaya VOIP phones, this was a great alternative to the $200 amp. Extends the length of the cord by about 12 inches from your headset.
