I wanted to try an led set to enhance my personal tv space and reduce my eye strain while playing long video game sessions. I found this nice entry level LED set for my 40 inch TV and after installing it, I believe I made the right choice of product! Installation was very quick. I suggest using an alcohol pad or a window cleaner soaked paper towel to clean the back of the TV or whatever surface you choose to put these strips on but, with moderate effort, these went on nice and easy and stuck to the surface pretty good. I didn't use tape to hold these down as someone else suggested and hopefully I won't have to do that but not I do, it's no biggie, nobody is looking at the back of the TV anyway. All the functions of the remote worked and I actually have it at mid brightness because they are pretty potent! For the price, I hope it lasts me at least 3 months or more, any longer than that and it pays itself off. These seem to be of good quality and so far everything is working as expected. They stay on for a few seconds after powering off my TV (they're plugged to the USB output of my TV) and then they shut off which I think it's great, especially if you're ok a dark room or like the car that keeps the music on after you turn the ignition off so you can keep enjoying it. Great variety of colors!!!

Easy install, bright lights, fits my 55inch, remote is ok, settings easy to set.

I can't say much about how long they'll last...but out of the box, they are pretty awesome. I'm digging the glow in my living room now and I let it fade cycle through the colors. I'm using them on a 60 inch samsung and they fit really well. The 3m backing tape holds firm. The only thing I would change would be making the is cable black to match most tv's. White sticks out a little. Update... 10/9/2018 ..... These lights are still going strong and I have had zero issues with them. I don't even think about it anymore because they are so reliable. When i turn on my TV, they turn on with it and cycle through the colors just as the day i purchased. They even make a great night light for people who don't like the dark. I would strongly recommend these lights to anyone looking to add ambiance to a room. Update... 5/15/2019.... They don't quit. I've had zero problems. The lights turn on EVERY TIME without doubt. I can't say enough good things about them but if you're on the fence on which light to get.... look no further. THESE are it! Update... 10/08/2019... Its been over two years since I bought this product. At this point, I'm fairly certain I might die before this product stops working. The glue still holds strong. The lights continue to work everytime and I can't believe I paid so little for something that had lasted so long. Update...06/13/2021... Here we are approaching the 4 year mark since I've bought these lights. I still love em and they've given me ZERO issues since the day of install. They've made it through 2 separate relocations and now a crazy pandemic to which (let's be real) my TV has seen way more screen time than past years. The glue is still holding great and I'm more worried about the TV backing coming off if we're to uninstall these now...lol. Seriously though, hats off to the company who made this wonderful product. I've sure enjoyed them and I'm sure you will too. Cheers! Update...04/12/2022... yup, they're still going. They've lasted long enough that you'd think it was sponsored by energizer. Tragedy did strike this year and I finally lost the remote (for real) but not to worry... that color fade cycle i selected oh so many years ago is still flowing like the ancient rivers of Babylon. See ya next year! Update...06/26/2024... coming up on 7 years with these bad boys and after thousands of hours on my TV, these lights still work perfectly. Honestly, not a single issue. For those wondering, I did finally find the remote when we replaced our couches only to have my two lab puppies divide it up for a mid day snack. One trip to the vet later and we're all back safe and sound watching the same TV with the same back lights on the new couches. I still can't change the effect but that same ol color fade is still rolling deep as the day it was purchased. I'm in for the long haul now. See you all in a couple years!

Use Case: I recently made my basement into a "man cave" for my young boys and wanted to make it both cool and functional. One issue I had was with the lighting as you would in any standard basement - small windows and few windows. I wasn't planning on using this light strip to make it brighter but just to offer some dimension in a room that is darker. I "planned" to use this strip for somewhere in my media center furniture but wasn't sure how. I recently purchased another version of this (not the same) and was disappointed in the quality and it broke after 2 days so I was hopeful but not over excited. Shipping: Item came fast with fine packaging. In the package you get the light strip, remote and 4 corners to allow the strip to make turns without kinking, and some wires to plug in. Installation: I installed the first box of strip behind the TV as I saw in the pictures. I plugged one end into the USB of the TV and removed the tape backing to put around the back, following the design instructions for 50" TVs and greater (there are different patterns you should use based on the size of the screen for optimal light output behind TV and to ensure you don't run out of the strip!) It installed easily and LOVED the corner adapters - this is EXACTLY where my prior product went wrong - i had to kink the corners to turn because they didn't provide those adapters. The tape adhesive is strong but not so strong that it can't be removed. The second box I had I installed under the media console to add lighting hitting the floor. I love the placement of this and this installed just as easy with the great help of the corner pieces. However, because I used the product for a different lighting purpose (not on the TV) I didn't have a USB to use to plug it in when I got to the power strip - this was FINE though because if you have this situation you can do a couple things - get a power strip that has a USB plug along with outlet plugs, or get an outlet for wall that does the same. I opted for the power strip because that power strip I have is connected to a Wemo home automation Wemo Mini Smart Plug, Wi-Fi Enabled, Works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant so I can shut off that strip anytime via phone or google home. I like this because the Wemo control ensures that this gets shut off and does not waste the life of the product. As I mentioned in past reviews, I like to use my Google Home to control these decorative lights in my basement via IFTTT service. All I have to say is "OK Google turn on media center lights" and then IFTTT triggers Google Home to talk to the Wemo Plug and turn on / off. It's awesome! I also wanted to mention that this strip, when plugged into USB, it only turns on when the TV is on - this is why I chose to put the other strip into a power strip and not the TV because I wanted it on even when the TV wasn't on. Cons: I had to take one star off because, to be honest, the lighting behind the TV is very bright even after playing with the colors and brightness settings on remote. People hardly notice it. It's installed close enough to the edge that it should reflect more but it's very faint. I have a 57" TV and the wall color in the background is pale yellow. I'm probably going to buy another one to do a double installation but I am weary of doing that because it will take another USB outlet (unless I buy a hub). Overall, this is a great product, solid quality and LOVE the fact that this has corner adapters for turns. Many of these products do not come with that. The tape on this is also so much better than others - some are so strong they take off finishes. I love, also, that this plugs into the USB of TV so there's no cords running all over and not taking another power strip plug that is usually fully used in a media area. Remote is great too and offers nice selection of colors and lighting options to make it fun, especially in my use case for kids.

Overall a good inexpensive lighting solution for larger monitors or "smaller" TVs. Strips are 4 even lengths, with one having the control module and remote receiver permanently affixed - a less than ideal design IMHO but good enough for cheap lights. Do note that my photos are significantly brighter than the real thing because my camera is really bad, but they are plenty bright enough for the desired ambient effect. Blue, green and white (which has a very slight blue tint but not by much) actually appear brighter than red. I've attached mine to the back of a 49" 32:9 monitor and am leaving them set to red. They are powered by a USB plug on the monitor. The lights turn on and off with the monitor and remember their last used setting. I cannot comment on the adhesive on these light strips as I left the backing on and simply used painters tape between each LED instead. I won't be looking at it and I'd rather not leave goop on my monitor if I ever have to remove the lights. Due to the size and shape of my display I ran into a few small challenges. Firstly the power cable isn't long enough to reach to the side of my display so I had to attach the first strip which has the power input starting at the middle running toward the edge. I then had to use the included ribbon strips to go up to the next 2 LED strips which go all the way across to the other side. I then had to improvise with an RGB extension cable that was included with the accessory pack of my motherboard, which thankfully works just fine. It goes back down to the last strip which then runs back toward the middle of the display. I'm not going to penalize the product for this as my situation is certainly not typical, but I want to mention this for anybody wanting to use these lights with a monitor of this size. Buy with confidence, but plan carefully and determine if you will need some RGB extension cables or possibly even a cheap USB extension cable for the power. I got lucky and had a spare RGB cable to use :-D.

There's already so many helpful reviews on this but I still wanted to share my experience in case anyone encounters slight problems during installing! The package contains 1 main LED strip and 3 sub LED strips, all of which come connected to each other (referred to as the "long strip"). The instructions say to separate the long strip and connect them with connection cables, so I separated the long strip but didn't pay attention to the order in which they were connected. I don't know if that should matter but after I connected everything and stuck it onto my monitor, two of the four strips weren't lighting up. I thought I had a defective product because I checked all of the connectors to make sure the "+"s were matched up to the "+5V"s and made sure the arrows were all pointing in one direction. I decided to switch the order of the two sub strips and they worked, thankfully! I suggest you connect everything and plug them in to check that they all light up first before installing. A second thing to note is that the sticky adhesive on the back is kind of like the typical 3M command tape that sticks nicely the first time, but once you take it off and put it back it kind of loses its stickiness. The way I installed mine was to peel back ~1 in. of the paper on each end of the four strips to reveal a little bit of the tape and pasted it onto my monitor, that way it will be easy to remove in the future if I need to replace the lights. The package also provides four mini rectangular adhesive "buckles" which I think are really nice, I just wish they gave more. I attached one to each row of lights (my monitor is <40" so I installed the lights in the snake pattern they suggested) as a precaution in case the sticky tape gives way and the lights want to fall off my monitor. It would be perfect if they provided 8 "buckles" so that I could have two per row, then it'll really catch the lights in case they fall. Otherwise, great lights and relatively easy installation process. Just read the instructions thoroughly first so you know what you're getting into and know how to troubleshoot in case something goes wrong!

The led strip is incredibly fragile!!! It ripped and tore into pieces as I was gently pressing the sticky side to my tv. I was making sure to be careful, that the edges were not being folded. I believe the plastic corner brackets grip the strip too tightly, and caused the strip to tear. I'm disappointed and ended up having to almost half the strip in the trash as it is now unusable. :/ At least the strip is cheap and easy to remove.

Order came in on January 10th. While assembling the strip on my tv, the led strip snapped off the adapter, very easily. Talked to the seller. They basically told me, ‘it’s a mistake while assembling. There is nothing we can do.’ For the 60€ price tag, I expect more quality and a better customer service. Very unfortunate.

I like the fact that the strip comes in pieces that inter connect with a corner ribbon cable. It fit absolutely perfect on my 65 inch tv. The remote works with the receiver behind the tv nicely hidden. No fancy gimmicks. The lights are bright enough. Looks great.

The strip's sticky part came off with the blue strip, leaving the light strip without any sticking ability. The light intensity is also much lower than I expected. The remote quality is too bad. Overall not that great of a product
