The Franklin Sensors Family
LEDs track stud center and edges simultaneously, showing single studs, double studs and irregular configurations other stud finders cannot detect.
The ProSensor M150 has 9 accuracy-enhancing sensors. In comparison, other stud finders have only 1-2 sensors.
One mode finds it all! Franklin Sensors stud finders auto-adjust for different wall's texture, depth and material. Works through interior sheetrock/drywall and more.
Just press and hold the button to start finding studs. No calibration required. Unlike conventional stud finders that give false readings, Franklin Sensors stud finders let you start scanning anywhere, even over a stud.
In certain models, the center LED will turn green to indicate the exact center of the stud.
Several of our models now have a low battery indicator. When the battery voltage is low, the second LED from the right will flash. Replace with two brand new batteries.
In certain models, the LED lights will flash when you first press the button to assure you that the unit is on and receiving power.
For best results, use two brand new, non-rechargeable AAA batteries (check instructions for details).
Our stud finders work best through a single layer of sheetrock/drywall.
While many customers have reported success using our stud finders through lath and plaster, detection is not guaranteed due to irregularities in plaster thickness.
We
recommend using our stud finders through stucco, exterior siding, double layers of sheetrock/drywall (common in condos, townhomes and home theaters), tile, wood flooring, carpet or roofing.

**Q: Is the sensor capable of detecting wood trusses above the room ceiling?**
A: Don't bother, ours was rubbish. Sent it back  didn't detect anything.

This stud finder is a big step up from a single "wand" type in terms of visualising what's behind plasterboard. No calibration phase; just pick up and use. I found it effective for finding studwork and even the "dots and dabs" used for securing plasterboard against a solid wall. The only time I had trouble was when I didn't believe what it was showing me! There are some surfaces where accuracy will not be good. The instructions make this clear. Some reviewers found the plastic case flimsy, but it's fine - I'll just not be throwing it into a bag of heavy tools. An easy 5* rating.

Great piece of kit. It is very easy to use and takes the guesswork out of finding studs and electrical cables in the walls. The only improvement I would.like to see to make it five out of five would be for it to identify where exactly the cables are, as far as I can tell it shows you that they are there but doesn't pinpoint their exact location. Having said all that Inlove this little de ice and it makes drilling walls much less stressful.

I’ve tried a few stud finders before and this one is much better and far more accurate. It detects the full width of the stud rather than just the edges, which makes it much easier to see exactly where to drill.Very simple to use with no complicated calibration, just place it on the wall and move it across. The display lights up clearly when a stud is detected.Overall a very reliable tool and a big upgrade over cheaper stud sensors.
