Got this for my son for Christmas and he loves it!! He's been collecting cards for about a year now so I figured it's time to teach us both how to battle. They make it so easy to learn with the hardboard battle mat, 3 premade decks, coin, hit counters, instruction manual and more. Most importantly you start with a Pikachu electric deck and the other player with the cinderace fire deck. Each card in these decks are numbered so you start by putting them in order. Then just follow your individual manual book for that certain deck and it just walkes you threw how to play, with the manual already knowing what's going to happen next! It's awesome and super easy to learn! Then once you get it down you can switch to using the blue, Eevee darkness deck that's a bit more complicated and then you just get better and better and it all becomes very easy and a blast to play! If your kiddo is wanting to learn how to battle in Pokemon then I say this is the best way to go, hands down!!

This is a great way to learn the Pokemon Trading Card Game. Comes with three full decks, damage counters, a (comically oversized) coin, and a board for playing on. The board is very nice quality; it's not a thin plastic or paper mat, but an actual board game-like board. The board has a little 'what you can do on your turn' list on it for each player, which is great for learning. The instructions also feature a 'learn to play' section which guides you through several turns card-by-card, which again makes learning super easy. Finally, the decks are rated a 1 out of 3 on complexity, so the cards themselves do not feature any particularly difficult game mechanics. Difficulty of rules/cards seems appropriate for 6-7 year olds (at least the kind of 6-7 year olds that are interested in this type of game to begin with). I haven't played the pokemon card game for probably 20 years, so I have no input on whether the included cards are particularly good, but they are at least a full deck with a rare and a foil "V" pokemon each. I got it for $14 which seems like an amazing deal.

Kids have been wanting to start playing but they’re too young to just hop in. This was a great way to get them introduced and enjoying the game.

I wanted to get my wife, who loves Pokemon but hasn't really been a gamer, some Pokemon cards and wow - if you're coming in from the outside, the trading card game is pretty overwhelming. I wasn't even clear what all I would need for the two of us to play. This set is a really good introduction. The tutorial is exactly that, and the decks are pre-stacked to work with it, which is a really nice touch. The cards are numbered on the faces, so you could re-stack if you wanted to, and you can sort the decks back out into the three originals if you try mixing and matching. Moving beyond the tutorial, these particular decks depend pretty heavily on luck. I got into a bit of a rabbit hole and have learned that the larger community builds decks that have many more cards allowing searching and extra draws, which can improve the consistency of a deck's performance quite a lot. So, consider your audience - if your players aren't really going to be sophisticated about building or using a deck with a lot of tricky functions, great! If they are - well, this is still really inexpensive and a legitimately good introduction but I think middle-school-age children and older will outgrow it pretty fast.

I ordered the game for my grandsons. They love Pokémon. They have loved playing the game Pokémon Battle of Academy.

My 6 year old loves Pokemon. About a year ago she was given some Pokemon cards by a friend and she's been obsessed ever since! She hasn't had a full deck (x2) to play at home and I didn't want to commit a lot of money into up front. But this is perfect. 3 decks means she gets to play a different style (but let's be honest, she generally chooses Pika), and the 3 foils in there make her feel like she struck gold. Even though she just turned 6 (1st grade), she's able to play now and even attempt to teach her 3 year old sister! The playing board makes remembering what's required and what goes where very easy. For younger kids, this is an excellent starting set and the 3 decks let rotate and change up the experience easily. The biggest recommendation I have is make sure you buy 3 different style sleeve protectors so they cards don't get shuffled. My only gripe is that the storage only works if you don't protect the cards, but anyone who's been playing card games for 2 seconds knows that's the FIRST thing you do...

The Pokemon Battle Academy 2 Board Game is an absolute delight for Pokemon enthusiasts of all ages. Building on the success of its predecessor, this game offers an even more immersive and engaging experience. The easy-to-understand rules make it accessible for beginners while maintaining the strategic depth that keeps seasoned players hooked. The set includes everything needed to dive into the Pokemon world, from well-designed game pieces to clear and concise instructions. The updated features, including new Pokemon and battle mechanics, add a refreshing twist to the gameplay. As a fan, I appreciate how this game captures the essence of Pokemon battles while creating an enjoyable and competitive atmosphere. Whether you're a seasoned trainer or new to the Pokemon universe, the Battle Academy 2 is a must-have addition to your board game collection, earning it a well-deserved five-star rating.

I used to play Pokemon TCG and Yu-Gi-Oh! card game back when I was primary school. Then recently I downloaded the Pokemon TCG pocket mobile game. It sparks my fire to play Pokemon again! So I bought this Pokemon TCG Academy, to relearn the basics and also get my wife and family to play with me. Reduce screen time, increase bonding time! Delivery was quite fast, the product also came in perfect condition. Everything are in the box as described. Super excited to start playing!

Perfect as described and top quality. The decks are absolutely helping to learn the game properly and can be expanded by buying further pre built deck. Totally recommended for kids and adults too who want dive into pokémon world.

All good about this product, i got it for a cheap price compare to the mall price in Dubai, it came properly boxed and no damaged. The kids enjoyed it. They love the battle arena included - it it big and thick.

Pokemon cards are on hype in my daughter's school, so I had to learn what is it about. But instead of collecting (I hate loot boxes, aka casino for kids) I decided to try the card game. This game gives you three balanced decks of pokemon cards which are absolutely enough to start playing the game. Great value for money if you're not looking into overpowered decks (these are pretty basic, but well-balanced as I mentioned).
