ACDelco GM Original Equipment RC98 (15075118) 15 P.S.I. Radiator Surge Tank Cap

This cap fit perfectly on my vehicle and sealed tightly with no leaks. It’s a genuine GM replacement part, so the quality is excellent and it works just like the original. Easy to install and has held pressure with no issues since putting it on. A good, reliable replacement if your old one is worn out or cracked.

Prefix fit for my 2005 Silverado. My old cap had worn out and wasn’t pressurizing properly, replaced it with this one and it fixed the issue. Value for the money spent is top tier.

First off, it's an OEM part. It's what the manufacturer spec'd for my 2005 Silverado. Secondly, it's fairly priced. I, like many others, had the problem of disappearing coolant. Top off the coolant, and in a few short cold/hot cycles (driving it and then letting it cool down overnight, driving again), my coolant level started to drop. Top it off again, drive it a few times, and the level would drop. It progressively got worse over the course of about 25,000 miles. When the problem first started I would get about 1,200 - 1,500 miles before a coolant drop would be noticeable. Over the course of the 25,000 +/- miles that range dropped to under 500 miles. Since replacement of this expansion reservoir cap, this problem has stopped. I couldn't tell you how many hours I spent trying to chase down the source of this problem. Checking hoses, checking the heater core, the radiator...even crawling around trying to find signs of a leak on the block. Then worrying about the fear of internal issues. $12 fix. Problem solved. What fails on the factory cap? The dual o-rings allow vapor "blow off" as those o-rings deteriorate with age. That vapor or condensated water is part of your "50/50 mix" of antifreeze running in your system. So basically the water "blows off" in a vapor form leaving behind only the antifreeze. This creates a liquid level drop. Hope this helps somebody with the same issue. It's plagued GM owners for quite a few years.
