I ordered these capsules because my cat was prescribed liquid medication that tasted horrible and caused her to drool and shake her head everywhere. It was traumatic and stressful for both of us. I was scared that I wouldn’t be able to use these capsules since the medication was a liquid, but they actually worked really well. The capsules start to deteriorate with warm water, so just handle with dry hands when you’re inserting the liquid. Then place the capsule in the freezer. Freezing them prevents the capsule from deteriorating. My cat had no trouble swallowing a frozen capsule, and it completely prevented her from tasting the medication. This product is an absolute blessing and I am so grateful it works for us.

I never write reviews but I always read them, so for the next person like me searching out of desperation, these are the ones. We tried everything else... Pill pockets, pill paste, various soft food, shoving it down his throat, etc. We even tried hiding it inside people food & his favorite soft foods, but he could smell it & would turn away immediately. The meds were SO bitter & they'd immediately dissolve & disintegrate the moment they touched his lip, tongue, cheek, saliva... So you literally only had ONE shot to get it in or we'd waste pill after pill. PLUS the absolute worst part, when they'd do so, he'd immediately started frothing, drooling, foaming at the mouth, gagging, retching, slinging his head. It was absolutely heartbreaking to watch & it was making us all dread medicine time. :( Not to mention, they're heart meds & stressing him out of not getting them in him wasn't doing him any good at all. These capsules have changed that for all of us. Now not only does it hide the bitter taste, no more drooling, foaming, retching, AND IF you miss getting it down the first time, the pills inside stay in tact & you get multiple tries. Plus, bonus, all 3 pills fit inside ONE capsule. Thankfully between these & pill poppers we've gotten pretty good at getting it down all in ONE shot instead of multiples. These have been a literal lifesaver, in more ways than one. Highly recommend to anyone/everyone, especially for cats.

The only reason they are getting a one is cuz I cannot give him a zero. These things are horrible. They have no smell, no taste. They are so tiny. It would be impossible almost to fill them up. These are absolute garbage and you cannot return them once you buy them

my cat takes a small tablet that has to be cut into quarters... it's bitter so she drools and the pill is so tiny it's hard for us to see when she spits it out. these capsules make it cleaner and easier. with the capsules the cut up pills don't crumble up in her pill bottle, and they are much easier to see when she spits them out. they're pretty easy to fill. I also believe they taste much better than the bitter tablets, but I'm honestly not willing to test the taste myself

If you are looking at buying these capsules, then you are a pet parent who has experienced the effect of those medications that taste so horrible, it causes your cats to excessively drool and froth from the mouth. I have put her medication in stinky wet food, Churu, and juice from a can of tuna that my cat can't resist. She won't have any of it. She knows it's there. I came across these PetCaps that claimed they hide both the odor and taste of such medications, and they're chicken flavor to boot. I bought them as a last resort, knowing this is my last option AND THEY WORK! She doesn't like having a pill or capsule put into her mouth, but she swallows it without any problem, doesn't spit it up, and has no after effects of drooling. I am so happy because this is medication for her heart. I even told my vet about these capsules, suggesting they sell them in their clinic, because if I had seen them there, I would have been happy to discover them where my cats receive care.

Hiding pills in a gel capsule ensures your cat can't taste the medicine. These accomplish that well and are small enough for a cat. But they aren't our tools to pill our cat. I'll add additional details in case this technique helps anyone else. At our vets advice we figured out what our cat's "jack pot" treat is. This is an extra special treat used only at pill time. He loves churu so we go with that. Each day we had him hop up on a counter or table for his special treat time. Once that was established we started working on himto let us grab his cheeks and guide his chin to the sky in anticipation of tossing a pill down his gullet. But to our surprise establishing treat time worked so well there was no need. We ended up using "churu bites" as a pill pocket and churu tube as a chaser. He gets so excited he swallow the churu bite that has the gel cap with all four meds in one neat package and he's none the wiser. No fighting or trauma as we were gearing up for. He will now just eat the caplet as if it were a treat since we've established the behavior but I still hide it in a treat just in case.
