I use this as my base rub, and most people love it. Straight out of the container it is very spicy. My wife does not care for spice, but on a long smoke like brisket it loses some heat and mellows. Like I said, I use it as a base, and actually sweeten it up a tad. I tried it on ribs, and it had a bit of kick. The second time I cut it with brown sugar and she was all over it. It is a little pricey, but unless you buy all your spices in bulk, not that far out of price.

I have been smoking meet for about 12 years. I have used every type of dry rub on the planet and a have experimented extensively with my own. Just a word of warning this dry rub is very very spicy about 30% of your family or guess will like it. I myself enjoy spicy I love Sriracha on everything but even this was too much for me Also it is insanely salty in flavor. I would just stick to buying some paprika garlic powder cumin salt black pepper brown sugar and just a hint of cayenne pepper. I do not understand how this dry rub has so many 4 + star ratings it's really not that good. I had a party of 45 people and a majority did not want to eat the ribs at all had a lot of leftovers.. out of four slabs only two were eaten most people told me to Salty and way too hot

This is a great tasting rub, but the three pack and out of all three I ended up buying the larger container of this since it's so good. Amazing taste on ribs.
