From the New York Times bestselling author of T he Wonderful Things You Will Be comes the companion to Dream Animals -- a celebration of the imagination of children who dream both day and night! Emily Winfield Martin shows little ones that letting their imaginations run free will lead them into fantastical day dreams. Whether cloud-gazing or wandering through a museum, reading a book or playing in a tide pool, the children in this board book encounter magical creatures such as dragons, unicorns, griffins, and jackalopes. Whimsical rhyming text accompanies the dream-worthy illustrations. Review: A Nursery Bookshelf Must-Have - This is the sweetest story! We were gifted Dream Animals by a neighbor and, after falling in love with it, sought out more Emily Winfield stories. Day Dreamers is absolutely enchanting and beautifully illustrated. My daughter loves it. Dream Animals & Day Dreamers are my go-to books to gift at baby showers. Review: Cannot Recommend Enough! - After completely falling in love with Dream Animals, I knew I HAD to buy Day Dreamers. Emily Winfield Martin's poetry and illustrations are exactly what I look for in a children's book. (I'm a fan of hers. You probably can't tell.) Gentle but striking illustration, whimsical and original idea, and great word flow. This has it all. My daughter and I can sit and stare at the illustrations for a long period of time, just noticing little details and talking about what's going on. She notices something new each time we look at it. Each illustration is lovingly and carefully thought out. Each page is a work of art that is truly worthy of being framed. Exactly what I'm looking for to awaken my daughter's creativity. The style of illustration reminds me of Little Golden Books, but with elements that a Harry Potter and art history lover would pick up on. The pictures are gentle and easy on the eye, but are full of life and color and depict amazing and even humourous things like griffins, jackalopes, and even the Loch Ness Monster! Children of different genders and nationalities are depicted (Lots of girls are shown but there are boys shown too. The book is dedicated to a boy!) which is a huge plus for me. This appeals to me as a parent who loves reading to her child. I look forward all day long to my little girl sitting in my lap and enjoying a book with me. She is so little that it's sometimes difficult for us to bond and understand each other. But when we are giggling and discussing books together we are forming a strong connection. I look for books we will both love and cherish and this is definitely one of those. I personally cannot wait until we can read Oddfellow's Orphanage together and she's old enough for the Paper Doll Primer. After Dream Animals and Day Dreamers, I don't think I can go wrong with anything by EWM. I recently purchased Dream Animals for a friend of mine and her new baby. You can bet your sweet bippy I'll be sending her this one for the next special occasion. She's an art lover too and she was very happy with her copy of Dream Animals and I know she will love this one too.

Perfect addition to any library.
You won't regret purchasing this book! I started with *The Wonderful Things You Will Be*and was instantly captivated. As a 42-year-old mom, I find that I'm immersed in a world of joy and wonder every time I read these books. They are simply magical. Each book features stunning illustrations, and the characters are charming and enchanting. Each story surpasses the last in its extraordinary delight. My children, ages 9 and 11, are just as enthralled as I am. We proudly gift these books to family and friends as new babies arrive, and they truly stand the test of time. This one is one of my favorites!

Love the illustrations
I absolutely love these books!! The illustrations are so beautiful! And the story makes kids use their imagination. I’ve bought them for the grandson who was 5 at the time and my granddaughter when she was born. I have bought several of the authors books for my grandson.

Dream Animals Preferred
We strongly prefer Dream Animals to this. This rhyme does not flow well and is awkwardly formulated. Gorgeous illustrations as always. Hold my 2.5 year olds interest.

One of my favorites
This is one of my favorite children's books, and I buy it often for baby gifts and friends. The illustrations are beautiful, and the flow of the words is lovely. The board book version is durable and stands up to being used often. A great gift!

Beautiful book, highly recommend
Purchased this book after a friend gave us Dream Animals by the same author. I absolutely adore these books and have been reading them to my baby every day since he was only a few months old. The artwork is beautiful and the text is cute and clever. I like Dream Animals a little better, but they are both wonderful books with a whimsical theme. These books have the most text and pages of all the baby books we have, but my baby doesn't seem to mind as he loves looking at the pictures and flipping through the large pages. I highly recommend these books as they make a great addition to the nap/bedtime routine.

Get you child’s imagination going
My 18 month old absolutely loves this book. We read him books every night and he always saves this until the end as it’s his favourite. The drawings and sentiment is so lovely and it must get children’s imagination going. Great book, we have since bought another book from this author.
