Great design and quality. Easy care. Delivered as promised!

These Pimpernel placemats are made in China rather than England, but after weeks of use they're holding up well. They are solid, stiff mats, ...much heartier than any other placemats I own. Just wipe down the top surface between uses and they're ready to use again. I avoid getting the cork backs wet. I have Pimpernel dishes and they match the designs perfectly. The printing of the flowers is crisp and clear. They look and feel like quality table settings. The set of four comes in gift-giving quality packaging and they're a good deal compared to flimsy mats from other companies. Time will tell when it comes to durability. They give off a bit of an odor, but nothing too offensive. When they arrived, my wife aired them out on our porch and that helped. I assume the scent comes from the adhesive used to adhere the top layer to the cork. The art and design has a classic elegance and is very attractive on our wooden kitchen table. I'm happy to showcase them 24-7. Now that I've tried mats of this caliber, it would be hard to go back to thinner, foldable ones. ~ Kort

These placemats are very durable, easy to clean up and look great on my table.

The quality of these mats is evident. They are better made than some others I have. I got them because I have the dishes set to match and I love being surrounded by flowers. The last set I bought that were cheaper and of a different brand soaked in places within a few months. These definitely look to be thicker and of a sturdier construction. Time will tell, but I loved them so much I ordered a second set!

I saw a version of these place mats at a boutique in Ireland, and was sorry the rest of my trip I didn't buy them... when I returned to the States I checked Amaon and voile! Here they are and I didn't have to ship them internationally! Love them--look great on my table with my Lenox china and pink depression ware glass plates. High quality, sturdy, print looks good--I'm very pleased with my purchase!

As a collector of Portmeirion dishes, I was pleased to get these beautiful mats. They are true to the artwork on the dishes and make a beautiful setting on my table. They are generously sized and sturdy. They are easy to clean, but smudges take a little bit of scrubbing with a damp cloth. When I first took them out of the box they had a musty smell which I think is the cork backing or the adhesive. However, the smell went away when I "aired" them cork side up for a few days.
