How would this handle a fender bass vi.

I play a five string Fretless acoustic bass through it and as long as you are realistic about the low end capabilities, you are fine...I would never crank the gain on my active bass and try to blast at the peak volume, the speakers would die. A more expensive option would be the Phil jones briefcase, which doesn't come with a battery, but you can buy and install one to it. Short answer, yes if you are careful, if you have the money look into the Phil Jones Briefcase
