Are these pliable rubber? Some I have seen are more like a soft plastic, which gives them very poor grip

It's a hard rubber. It has good grip. Will last several hours of use. I put it on the bottom of my walking stick.

Great replacement!

Always keep these in stock. I glue them on with 3m weatherstrip adhesive. Keeps them from falling off and slows the rate at which the tips of the poles eventually poke through. A firm twist takes them back off when it’s time to replace.
