The elusive, bestselling author of the Secret Series, Pseudonymous Bosch, delivers a page-turning, mysterious, magical book that will have readers believing the unbelievable! Magic is BAD. As in fake. Cheesy. Unreal. At least, that's what Clay, who has seen one magic show too many, thinks. When words from his journal appear mysteriously on his school wall as graffiti, he never imagines that magic might be to blame. And when the same graffiti lands him at Earth Ranch, a camp for "troubled" kids on a remote volcanic island, magic is the last thing he expects to find there. But at Earth Ranch, there is one strange surprise after another, until Clay no longer knows what to expect. Is he really talking to a llama? Did he really see a ghost? What is the scary secret hidden in the abandoned library? The only thing he knows for sure is that behind the clouds of vog (volcanic smog), nothing is as it seems. Can he solve the riddle of Earth Ranch before trouble erupts? Don’t miss Bad Luck , book 2 in The Bad Books series! Review: As Awesome as Past Years - His writing has not faltered a bit. Nor has his humor! I remember reading his Secret Series way back in elementary and now, as a Junior in high school, I crave for that kind of innocent reading that only PB can provide. This is a great pause -or break- from the required reading that my classes force me to read. Even though I do enjoy them (except for Hemingway) reading for pleasure gives me a sort of happiness that can't be found anywhere else. I'm excited to see what Clay is up to (and Cass, Yo-Yoji, and M-E) in the next books. Great great great! Review: Great Christmas Gift - Purchased as a Christmas gift, and they loved it.

A good read for all ages
I was very excited to read another book by Bosch and was not expecting it to be another book that follows the events in the Secret Series. His writing has improved since the very first book and I can't wait until the next installment of this series is published! A good read for all ages.

Entertaining
Bad Magic is an entertaining book with twists I didn't see coming. Poor Clay seems like a good kid from a dysfunctional family that can't seem to get a break. His sense of adventure keeps the book quite engaging. Almost from the beginning we're caught up in the mystery of what is going on and how something just happened. If you enjoy a good read, yes even a children's book, you should really check this out.

Extremely fun to read
this book was one of the most books I've enjoyed reading, like any other pseudonymous bosch book, it's mysterious and you can't expect where it ends, and when it does, it always leaves you wanting more.
