Secure, Full-Calf Protection That Just Works
What I liked * Easy to use: Simple on/off; the Velcro adjustment is quick and intuitive. * Full coverage: Shields the entire calf from chain rub. * Rock-solid hold: Strong Velcro straps—doesn’t slip or shift, even on sweaty rides. * Durable material: After multiple rides, the chain hasn’t damaged the neoprene. * Practical:** Does its job without fuss—good build quality. Bottom line Well-designed, secure, and tough. I liked it so much I purchased a second one.

Does what it claims as long as you are not fashion conscious.
OK, the Leg Shield is not going to win you style points. When wearing it, I get questions from coworkers and family -- another weapon to inadvertently (or not) embarrass your offspring. And I purchased the solid black version, so double the green/yellow version. That all said, it works as advertised. Superbly so, at that. I have used it for several months as part of commuting kit, through heat, cold, and rain. And it plain works to protect your pants from damage and grease. I consider it a safety device as much as a pants protector, as getting your pants caught in a chainring or crank can cause a loss of control (I've done it). Since wearing it, I have not had grease stains or catches occur, so it has definitely earned its place in my kit. The three Velcro tabs hold it firmly in place and it has ample coverage. Yes, it will wrinkle your pants if commuting in work trousers; my solution is to carry my work clothes in a pannier, as I never know what else I will encounter on the ride in to work. I wear it over dedicated nylon, quick dry pants (covering winter layer tights when cold) and it really keeps the thin, floating nylon from snagging. It will get sweaty, being neoprene and I wish it had some reflective patches on it (like the leg bands by the same company, which I use on my left leg), but is otherwise perfect. I considered the neon colored version, but decided to pass, since I am sure it would end up a dingy neon after some use. A tip to putting them on is to kneel down when fastening to your calves, that way it mirrors where your pants will be when peddling (also a good time to check your shoe laces, another point of danger with chain rings and cranks! Highly recommended.

Easy fit, durable, simple design - It Just Works.
If you're a bike commuter in colder climates, this Leg Shield is a must buy. I bought it not to protect my pants so much as to avoid having to keep rolling my pants up. I rolled my pants all summer/fall, but once it started getting colder, my ankles would freeze! Bought this thing and now I don't have to roll my pants at all because this covers the pant cuff so it doesn't get ripped up by the pedal crank/sprocket/cassette. I have between 5-15 minute commute and the pants only wrinkle marginally. This is very warm, so I'm not sure I'd want to wear it in warm weather, but for cold weather it cannot be beat. There's nothing on the market like it. Seems very durable, I have no concerns about it holding up for at least this whole winter season in daily use. I bought the black version and it looks exactly like the picture - no trickery there. Size wise, I have gigantic calves because I don't have a car and bike everywhere. I'm also "big-boned" and this fits fine with plenty of room to spare. It would also fit a smaller leg if you've got a more slender body than I have because the velcro bands cover the full width of the thing. Really a terrific/simple design through and through. Best $15 I've spent in a long time.

Satisfied with product. Price went up almost a dollar in a couple of months. Only one is provided as opposed to a pair.

Cheaper than a new pair of pants
I do a whole lot of cycling. And I am What you might call a MAMIL. Which stands for middle aged man in Lycra. But that’s a weekend thing, when I go out for bike rides of 50-100 miles. During the week, I try to commute by bike as often as possible. And I can’t show up to work in tight cycling shorts. It just might be awkward. It could be fine, but I don’t think so. So I commute in regular street clothes. Clothes that I might wear at work. But if you ride bikes- then you know that there is a large chain ring on the right side of the bike, positioned to grab ahold of a loose pant leg. And if it doesn’t chew holes right through it, it will certainly mark it up permanently with chain grease. Now I’ve tied my pant leg tightly to my lower leg with a reflective Velcro strap - designed to make cars aware of your presence, as well as to save your pants. But it doesn’t save you from the grease stains that you get from rubbing up against the chain ring. But this keg shield certainly does the trick. It’s amazing. Easy to put on and take off. I can’t tell you how many pairs of been save by using this thing, which makes it a fantastic value. Especially because you only need one. Although, because of my cyclists vanity- and need for symmetry, I’ve been thinking of buying one for my left leg. I wonder if a future version could have a reflective band on it. Or if it could simply be made in bright yellow? Great product

Quality product at a low cost
I try to save the rest of the world from having to look at me while in cycling pants – you’re welcome. However this endeavor has some challenges and one of those is the need to wear baggier styled clothing. I tried straps and my pants would just balloon out over the top and underside and still often come in contact with the chain. The leg shield has worked out great so far. It covers my pants through my entire pedal stroke and I don’t worry at all about chain grease, or worse getting my pants caught. The Velcro is plenty strong so it holds fast for the entire ride and the material is pliable enough that I can strap it to my leg tightly and barely notice that I have it on. I really have been very pleased with this product and recommend it highly.

I bought two of these leg shields and they work beautifully to protect one's pants from bicycle chain grease, and as a type of gaiter to prevent snow from entering the top of a low boot. I use them for snowshoeing.

Ok, so I've had some funny looks as I've walked into work wearing this but it is great. I no longer have had my trousers getting eaten in my chain, no longer worried I'm damaging my chain/gears/ and no more black grease marks on my trousers either. The reflective strips show up well so hopefully increases my visibility and safety too. Multiple wins. The grease really shows on this so I know exactly how much grease I've protecting my trousers from. I've washed this leg shield by hand once and am pleased that the grease came off easily and the leg shield didn't fall apart at all. Delivery took a little longer than planned and the seller did contact me to apologise and explained. Seemed fair enough and I wasn't in a rush. There isn't anything else so far on the market like this and I think it's better than tucking your trousers into your socks or using clips. The price is a little steeper than I'd expect and once a couple of vendors/suppliers catch onto this product, competition may force the price down a tad. You only need one as the chain is on one side of the bike and only the leg on that side needs the shield. Product Description The Leg Shield is the perfect solution for protecting your right trouser leg from hard-to-clean grease stains and preventing trousers from getting jammed in the bike gears. With the existing trouser straps & clips, grease gets on your trousers and they can slip down or come apart. With the Leg Shield you don't need to worry about ruining your trousers and can have a safe and enjoyable ride. It's great for bike commuters and recumbent riders.
