Is this suitable for outdoor use?

Yes suitable for outside I put my blue bag in it that the council give us for recycling cardboard and paper

Can you use it without lid???

Yess you can, but then nothing gonna prevent the smell leaking out. Simply take down the lid by detaching it on both sides.

What bags do you use for this in the U.K. please?

Hi Im using this awesome bin bag. It is very strong and fits perfectly! https://www.amazon.co.uk/BIN-Refuse-Tested-Strong-Household-Office-Garden-Commercial/dp/B07J1VH24N
