Fantastic product but they're delicate
The original plastic aglets started to come off the ends of my hiking boot laces. I didn't want plastic ones again so spent a teensy bit more and got these metal ones. I absolutely love them! They're easy and difficult to use at the same time but, if you work w/ them, they're a great product. The process is straight forward but requires a delicate touch to close them as the metal is very soft. I first singed the end of the laces to get rid of fuzzy strands and then inserted them into the open aglet. The directions say to use pliers to close them but, and this is where I say they're delicate, the metal is so soft, it's very easy to just clamp down on them but I think that will make them flat and possibly give them some sharp edges so fiddling w/ the pliers to shape and mold them is advised instead of just squeezing down. Mine came out exactly as I imagined they would - nice and round and the grooves and prongs worked exactly as designed. If you don't have the patience to mold them using the pliers, these might be frustrating to use. I hope this doesn't dissuade anyone from using these because they're an excellent product.

Good but requires practice
These look fantastic. Really added a nice dimension to my costume. Make sure to buy a few extra because 1) you'll probably mess up at least once and 2) if it doesn't properly grip the lacing it will fall off. There's a learning curve but it's worth it.

Does what it says
Who knew that such a tiny object could be so necessary and useful? Yes this aglet tip does do what it is supposed to do. It seals off frayed and slowly unraveling shoe lace tips. It is easy to apply. However, it does not grab the shoelace as tightly as the original aglet. After I crimped down one of these onto a shoelace, I accidentally moved my hand slightly sideways just before releasing the small pliers. The aglet slid right off. It obviously was no big problem in reapplying the aglet and crimping it down again. I just have to accept the fact that I may have to tolerate the aglet slipping off again if I step on the tip and not get too agitated over it.

Not exactly what I was expecting
They do work for shoe laces, but they are too small for most hood and shorts drawstrings. They are also much longer than the shoelace end, so they won't fit well over thick or wide shoelaces; and even when clamped on well, they will not fit easily through some shoe holes. The quality of the metal seems good so far, but takes some finesse to get it to clamp well over the shoelace end. Also the description says colors are silver, gold, bronze and black, but the black is actually more like a dark silver/gunmetal color.

Perfect and long lasting!
Worked great for replacing the aglets on my steel toe boots for work. Used a pair of needle nose pliers and slowly pinched around the aglets to close them. I replaced my aglets a few months ago and these new ones are still looking brand new.

Good on shoes / not on hoodies
Used these to repair a broken shoelace aglet & worked fine. Easy to install with a pair of needlenose pliers and work fine for threading through the lace holes on the shoes. He also tried them on a drawstring on a hoodie but that cord was too thick and these did not work/close up.

Better than beoe!
With those lacetip replacements my shoe laces are nicer and better, longer lasting than before! Easy to install, good quality, I use them on large laces for outdoors shoes, they fit just fine in shoe eyelets. Preferable to use electrical pliers but any type pf pliers will do with more caution not to not flatten the tips. I even ordered a second package!

They fit and they work.
Bought these for my hockey skates. I struggled to get the tip of my laces through the eye holes every time I laced them up. These tips are long and sturdy. Simple to put them on with small needle nose plyers.

Too big to go threw shoelace holes
It keeps the ends from falling apart, but it is too large to go threw shoelace holes. Put it on after the shoe us laced up.
