Can’t beat the price and gets the job done!
Love this! Can’t beat the price, weight, and ease of use. I did a DIY basement renovation and used this to cut laminate flooring. Couple of things... it’s cheap and does the job but, you have to guide the pieces your cutting precisely. The guides aren’t much use with cutting planks. So a lot is left to your hand to make straight. I drew lines on the wood to make sure I followed the right cut. But for the price and how much it saved me laying the floor myself, it was worth the effort and a couple messed up planks in the trash. It’s light so that was a problem sometimes as the whole unit would move as I was trying to cut something. So finding a way to secure it down helps you make more accurate cuts. It also allowed me to do custom cuts if I took the guard off it and just used it as and open blade. Though, that’s dangerous and not recommended in the manual so use caution. For cutting down long planks, it’s annoying when you get to the bracket that holds the blade in place but if your cut is straight the plank splits perfectly fine at that point since it’s not too wide and you can keep cutting all the way down the length of the piece. All in all, was perfect for my small job.

Rockwell makes a good saw
Compact, lightweight, and very handy. Blades can be stored in a tray on the machine. It will use most t style jigsaw blades. I have found that some styles are too long for the saw guard. It cuts wood and acrylic material very well. After opera8 the saw for a couple of months I have been very well satisfied with the quality and value of the saw. Makes clean cuts based on blade selection and patience accurate detail cuts can be made easily. The rip fence will assist with accuracy in straight cuts.

Excellent Product
I bought this on a whim, I'm installing a Vinyl Plank flooring in my basement and had originally tried cutting my cuts with a circular saw, Big mistake as it throws plastic sawdust everywhere, next came using a Jig Saw which worked, but worked super slow and required three hands to hold the plank, hold the saw and hold the table while making minute cuts without screwing up the whole piece. Enter the Blade Runner, I was in a Big Box store buying scroll saw blades,( Yes, another vain attempt at cutting my planks, Blades last about 30 seconds before snapping and the saw itself bounces across the floor) When I noticed the Blade Runner on the shelf next to me, I remembered seeing them advertised a few years ago and meant to buy one then, but forgot about it. However, It seemed perfect for what I needed, Basically just a Upside Down Jigsaw on a Table. Amazon was $40 cheaper, So I ordered and literally had it the next day, and I live out in the sticks. This Saw is fantastic, it's like it was designed for the sole purpose of putting in a vinyl floor. However, I took away (1) Star for Rockwell quality control, The Guard is held on by (2) Bolts that uses a tool-less screw knob with a nut inside, (1) nut was missing and required me going to the store and buying some (M6x1.00 Metric in case your're wondering) a minor inconvenience since most my cuts are made without the blade guard in place. Feature-wise most have covered it, But it comes with the tabletop saw, (5) blades for various projects from cutting Metal, Ceramic, Wood and yes, Vinyl Planks, It comes with a Rip fence, and a Miter gauge. I see many, many uses for this saw down the road. Blade changes are made in 2 seconds and everything is designed to NOT have to use tools to make it work. I kick myself for not buying one sooner. In closing, I'll just say I never installed a Plank Floor before, So there is a certain learning curve and I know for a fact, had I had this saw from the start, it would've made the entire job flow a lot smoother. I read most of the (1) Star reviews and even one where the guy said it was the worst thing ever for Vinyl Flooring, I'm not sure what He was expecting, Maybe push a button and the stuff cut itself? But this thing works fantastic for Vinyl flooring and even though it's just an upside down jigsaw with a table, It actually cuts faster than using a handheld jigsaw, But it's important to remember, It's a Jigsaw, So it's NOT going to be setting any speed cutting records, Reading between the lines in the (1) star comments, I gathered most people were disappointed at the speed and not at the saw itself. However, part of the beauty of a Jigsaw is it goes slow enough to allow for very precise cuts without destroying your work piece because of one cut that went too far or maybe the difference of looking like a 5 year old installed your floor or a Professional did it . You Decide.

Big powerhouse Small package
I just got my band saw but for small cut offs, notches, trims, quick cuts at the 5 in the morning shop activity and you don't want to wake the whole house, this is the ticket! I also have it on a swing down plywood base that frees up bench space when I don't need the saw. Simple blades and replacement action. Over blade adjustable stabilizer so cut off material doesn't rattle or bounce. Just for the hold down feature, this item is worth it! Dust collection is awesome. A standard shop vac hose end into the tubular anti-rattle mechanism vacuums any and all chips and dust. A great little machine that has so many practical uses.

Hoped for more, but not too bad.
Straight to the point....immediately buy premium blades for the saw as the ones provided are terrible. I recommend Bosch blades. Next, don't expect to do any heavy cross cutting. This is basically a jig-saw that is upside down, and because of that the blade tends to bend so you don't get a perfectly vertical cut. Also, There were a few times I thought this thing was going to destroy itself with the intense shaking and rattle it can produce. I highly recommend only trying to cut soft wood. Now, if you're trying to do small crafts with soft wood, this thing is great! It cuts great, but you have to have constant and consistent pressure on what you're cutting, otherwise it jumps everywhere. I really did expect more, but at the price point, and if you're not doing any heavy cutting, it's a prefect little DIY saw. The miter gauge works well and the rip guard works well enough. I cautiously recommend this.

Good product but room for improvement.
Super useful. I think it may be the most used tool in my shop for fabricating with polycarbonate sheet. Main recomendation would be a 1000 lumen LED inside the blade protector aiming down on the point where the work piece meets the blade. I find my self wearing a 5000 lumen LED head lamp to see the cut lines buried down inside the guide which seems silly. Some of the parts are cheaply made but it works as promised. Would be more useful if it had a tilt for the blade or work surface available. The way the guard is mounted can make some cuts difficult especially ripping long thin strips where I had to make custom jigs. They should have mounted the support post so it comes out the back of the device with the option to buy a guide with a deeper throat so you can work with larger work pieces. As made it will be more challenging to make a custom jig to allow this. It would also be good to have a way to route vacuum to both the under side and upper side of device. It is relatively difficult get the guides aligned perfectly square and the marketing are difficult to see in anything but perfect light so you have to manually square the guide every time used. This is true for many saws but this saws guide is worse than most. To be fair it isn't any harder to square up than our CNC mill.

Not "Portable" as named
This product is highly rated on multiple sites including Amazon, Lowes, Home Depot, and a general product review site. Pros: 1. Price - I was able to get this at $99, which for what it presents itself as is a good deal 2. If attaching to a table by bolting it down, this might work better for you than it did me. Cons: 1.Does not cut straight. I watched the video review (the long 10 minute intro on youtube) and thought "That's exactly what I need". The guy cuts a piece of flooring that's 3 foot long. I was cutting 15" pieces of 2x4 (1.5x3.5) The moment it reaches the shield arm, it turns ever so slightly. After cutting, you can look at it and see, that's how off that arm makes your cut. I wish I had taken pictures to show you. But after messing up 3 pieces of wood I had cut to 15" length for a project, I was tunnel visioned on getting the tool out of my possession. 2. Says "portable". Is NOT portable. When cutting the 15", the whole time the whole thing shook so much I had to stop the machine because it was hurting my hand holding the wood. I had done the first cut without the arm because I was following the line and didn't want to use the arm. It was a straight cut, but the shaking was outrageous. So I put the arm on hoping it would help. It did not. It still shook and on top of that, ruined both cuts I made after that. 3. People claim it's a durable plastic. Upon arrival, a small piece had managed to break in a not-so-important area. How it could have broken, I do not know. It does feel like a good, thick plastic, but that piece breaking leads me to feel like some other parts might go bad or break from normal wear and tear. I sadly thought it was user error, but my father who has worked in carpentry, plumbing, and the like for 40+ years tested it and gave me his opinion, I realized I was going to have to return this. He said what I said in the pros section: if you're going to keep this in a permanent, solid place like a heavy duty workbench, this might be a perfect fit. My guess is, if you have a heavy duty work bench, you'll want a better table saw than this. In the defense of this tool, I was trying to cut close to the max depth allowed by the machine for wood: 1.5" (the wood was about 1.48"). The tool still won't be able to cut straight due to the arm, regardless of thickness. I don't know how they managed to cut the wood in the video straight, unless it's not as straight as it appears. The usability of the tool would be better served by a miter saw. I'm starting to realize the truth behind multi-tools just aren't cut out to do as good of a job as dedicated machinery. This tool attempts to be too many things but fails to do the main things it says it can do (portability and table saw) well.

Great multi-purpose saw that performs cross, rip, mitre, and scroll cuts admirably!
This is a fantastic, portable multi-purpose saw table. While it's obviously not a real table saw with a circular blade and doesn't have the advantages and total accuracy of a true table saw, it is far safer and infinitely more portable. Despite some complaints from other users, I have found it quite easy to make straight, accurate cuts. The fence and mitre both work well when properly set and used. I wrapped my mitre slide with a little bit of masking tape to reduce slop, and find it best to clamp the workpiece to the mitre to further reduce chatter and slop. When utilizing proper technique and quality blades--I recommend Festool brand--tear-out is non-existent and I get highly accurate cuts. I was able to reduce a 5/8"x5.5"x6' cedar fence board into a birdhouse in about 5 minutes of total cut time--made a great gift for my mother! I haven't given it much of a run as a scroll/jig saw, but I did a couple of free-hand curved cuts just for kicks and was able to get pretty decent results. I have also experimented with cutting a nominal pine 2"x4" (actual about 1.5"x3.5") and had no problems making the cut with a little patience. I haven't had the opportunity nor the need to try cutting metal, tile, or laminate but with quality blades I'm sure those would cut just fine. Tighten everything down (clamp to bench or other surface, tighten arm and blade guard fully) and let the saw do the work (don't rush it or push too hard) and you should find this a very versatile and functional tool. I would further suggest "whiting-out" (or "whatever-other-coloring-out") the tabletop ruler and guidelines by spreading some acrylic paint over the plastic surface tabletop with a sponge brush or paper towel (remove the red plastic insert near the blade first to avoid any chance of affecting the color of that piece of plastic) and wiping away the excess paint with a damp cloth or paper towel. The resulting effect will be clearly demarcated lines and increments that may help you achieve more accurate cuts. I did the same with the miter gauge, and it made it much easier to make accurate cuts without straining to see the markings.

Buena herramienta basica
Es una herramienta cómoda y práctica, la puedes usar en cualquier lugar pero tiene sus limitaciones , los cortes se restringen a materiales suaves y de espesor menor a 2 plg para que haga cortes regulares.

This machine must be clamped to the workbench.
This is a wonderful machine. I bolted it to a plywood baseboard to make it easy to clamp to workbench so it does not move around, and the hold-down arm keeps the work under control. It can be used instead of a bandsaw or scroll saw, and you can cut internal shapes without having to re-mount the blade through the starting hole. Best of all, the convenient vacuum attachment makes for a clean workplace. Remember to wear safety spectacles and ear protection! It does not have a variable speed feature which might improve performance in certain circumstances.

Excelente producto

Fabulous!
I replaced a table saw with the Rockwell Blade Runner X2 and I have to say, I love it. It's so easy to use and I feel completely safe using it. It cuts through everything and, contrary to other reviews, I have no problem cutting a straight line! I do think Rockwell cheapened out with the X2. It's certainly not as rugged as the original Blade Runner, which had, for example, a metal deck. The X2 deck is plastic, except around the cutting blade, but even still, it's still a sturdy little workhorse and it does what it's supposed to. I also love the fact that in my home workshop, the footprint is so much smaller compared to the table saw I had. It really is just a jigsaw turned upside down, but it's a great concept. Glad I purchased this. Zero regrets.

Not a table saw
I needed a jig saw, but never liked having the piece suspended out over the table for blade clearance. This solves that problem. It is a capable jigsaw. Sometimes there is a good chunk of vibration. If you want to use it as a table saw, don’t. Just buy a table saw. It’s okay for short cuts on the fence but it’s too slow and not accurate enough for multiple cuts.
