Work awesome on smokers
Ordered 2 for my smoker. Easy read from 20-50' away. Accuret within 2 degrees of 2 commercial ovens I checked them against.

Nice and LARGE!
It is large and easy to read. I have a Nexgrill 720-0783E that I purchased in 2019, and the original gauge finally broke. I was looking for a factory replacement and found this one. It looks great, but I did run into a small issue during installation. When I added the washer on the top, it did not tighten properly and it did not sit flush with my grill. I had to use two washers, the new one along with the old one from the factory gauge, to secure it. Overall, it works well. You can see the difference in the pictures below.

A good back up to the internal probe
I have always been curious to know how accurate the internal temperature on my smoker/grill was, but just took it for granted the readings from the digital, built-in internal probe were correct. With the weather getting colder, it becomes more and more important to know how much of a fudge factor to put into the timing of your cook once the temps drop. I thought adding a dependable, analog probe might help, so this led me to purchasing the Galafire 3 3/16" BBQ Temp Gauge. The installation of the Galafire BBQ Temp Gauge on my smoker/grill took about 10 minutes. I got to test it out just last week when I cooked a turkey. Over the course of 4 hours, I would say the difference between the built in probe and the Galafire unit was never more than 2 degrees, and most often the two thermometers agreed with each other. The turkey, by the way, came out great! I am pleased that the built-in probe seemed to be reliable, but only because I was able to fall back on the Galafire Temp Gage for a 'second opinion.' I highly approve of this product for the simplicity of installation and the accuracy (in comparison to the other probe).

Good replacement for stock thermometer
The stock thermometer on my smoker quit working this summer, and I bought this one as a replacement. It works well, seems to be fairly accurate, and is easier to read than the old one. The only downside is that it doesn't fit quite as tightly as the original, so it allows a tiny amount of smoke to escape around the thermometer. It's not a huge deal, and for the price, I'm happy with it.
