Fujifilm X-T1 X-T2 LCD Made in Japan Tempered Glass Camera Screen Protector, Patchworks ITG 9H Hardness Oleophobic Coated Anti-Scratch Anti-Fingerprint Tempered Glass Screen Protector

this is my third purchased screen protector for my Fujifilm X-T2. the first one i bought was the Larmour glass protector and the second was the Boxwave polymer film. The Patchworks glass screen protector has proven that the third time's the charm, in my case. To begin, let me describe the problems with the first 2: Larmour's glass protector lacks rounded corners and radiused edges. while the glass was spot on in length & width, the sharp edges protruded enough to get caught on clothing and cleaning cloths, snagging and lifting the protector off the display at the corners enough to create bubbles. I bought the Boxwave screen film to avoid these issues, however, they're about 1-2mm too wide, causing them to also catch on things, attract lint and slowly lift from the edges as they curled. Most of these issues are exacerbated by the fact that the glass lens atop the display isn't flush with the frame surrounding the LCD on the X-T2. It's not a manufacturing defect; it's just a choice made in their design and thus any protector cut precisely to the display's dimensions will be problematic. Patchworks' protector is wisely cut slightly smaller, about 2mm in width and 1mm in height, as you can clearly see in my photos. This allows it to stay completely flush with the display lens. The original display also features a bold, black matting surrounding the LCD itself, so the edges of Patchworks' glass protector in no way interferes with viewing. Combined with their rounded and radiused corners and edges, once applied, the edges of the glass protector blend smoothly to the touch. Sure, you can plainly see the protector is slightly small once applied, but the exposed areas are minuscule and mostly protected by the thickness of the applied protector due to proximity. For a glass screen protector designed to fit the X-T2, this is the best one I've found so far in this price range. It may not "look" perfect to the pickiest, most OCD individuals, but for the 99.7% who are able to see the facts plainly, this is an excellent solution at a great price.

Lets not kid ourselves the X-T2 is one expensive camera. And as my mobile phone can attest I'm a klutz. Though luckily I invested in a tempered glass covering for my Nexus 6 (another expensive purchase when they first came out) which has saved its screen on 3 different occasions (and yes I'm on my 4th glass protector!) But I digress. Considering my ability to damage expensive electronics I bought this tempered glass cover for the X-T2 I managed to snag on pre-order and actually got one the day they were released. I cleaned off the X-T2 screen and applied this glass protector over it. The whole process took only a couple of minutes and while I didn't get it dead on it is close enough. No bubbles and does not seem to interfere with the picture presented. So I'm very happy and now know that at the very least my expensive camera screen is protected.

It fits the Fujifilm X-T1 perfectly. It's easy to apply. I recommend taking a shower and steaming up your bathroom really well. This will cut down on dust. I used gaffer tape to tape down the left side of the screen protector in place. Then clean your screen with the provided wipe and make sure there is no dust on the screen. Carefully remove the film from the adhesive side and place the screen protector down from the side with the tape to the opposite side slowly. You should be able to see all the air pushed out if you gently press the left side where the tape is. I didn't have any dust or air bubbles using this technique. Wipe it down and press the edges to make sure it adhered well. I liked that it is glass and not a piece of film. You can't even tell there is a screen protector there.

This is an excellent product. However, one big caveat: it must be carefully aligned before installation. You only get one shot. If you don't get the alignment right, the adhesive will make it impossible to reuse the item. To install, attach a couple of pieces of tape to the opposite side of the screen protector to act as handholds. Then peel off the adhesive side, carefully position the protector and lower it into place. Rub it with a cloth to ensure that it adheres properly with no bubbles and remove the protective plastic. To Patchworks' credit, when I messed up the installation the first time, they were kind enough to replace it. Better instructions would have helped, and hopefully this might prevent further issues for other purchasers.

I have purchased 2 of these Patchworks tempered glass screen protectors - one of the Fuji X-T1 and another for my new Fuji X-T2. I followed the simple instructions. They were easy to apply and look great. They were easy to put on straight and there are no air bubbles. Someone looking at the camera would not even notice it is there, and there is no visible impact on the LCD display. My technique: Prior to removing the plastic backing, I set the protector on the LCD screen just to see how it would fit and how I wanted it positioned. Once the backing was removed, I dropped only one side to get the right edge exactly where I wanted it. Then I let go of the left side and just watched as the perfect surface contact could be seen moving from right to left until complete. There were no visible air bubbles that needed to be pushed to the edge.

Thicker than most tempered glass screen protectors so it sticks up off the screen of my Fuji X-T2 a bit. Some may prefer the extra thickness (for impact protection??) but I do not as my LCD protector is only there to prevent scratches. Very easy to apply- had no air bubbles that needed to be smoothed out. Screen protector is 1mm too short both in width and height so LCD is not fully protected and is more visible unlike the glass protector on my Fuji X100F which, due to its thinness and full coverage, isn't visible at all. Significantly more expensive than many of the tempered glass ones out there. Check out the 2 photos posted by "Amazon Customer" May 12, 2017 showing the shorter dimensions and thickness.

Review of "Patchworks ITG for Fujifilm X-T1 X-T2 LCD -..." Patchworks ITG, Impossible Tempered Glass, LCD screen protector. The box said it was "compatible with Fujifilm XT1", but it fit just fine on the X-T2. I used a long piece of masking tape to orient the protector as I stuck it on, a tip I learned. The first contact was at the bottom edge, and I think it's good to start at one edge. I let the capillary action pull it completely on, with only the tiniest almost invisible bubble on the upper-right edge, just off of the active image area, and on the black border where it will have no effect. The exposed edges of the protector are smooth and don’t catch. The protector is about 2 mm shorter in each dimension, so if you exactly center it, there will be a 1 mm perimeter of exposed area that is still effectively protected by the slight thickness. I think this is intentional, so that a small amount of error in fitting it will be unlikely to hang off the edge, where the protector would then cantilever out where it could catch and break. I’ve installed several different kinds of glass LCD protectors on different cameras, and they all are a tiny bit smaller than the LCD they protect. I like the design of a multilayer protectors, similar to automotive glass, so that it stays together if it is damaged.

Very easy to apply and the tempered glass is thick without being overly thick. As with any screen, glass or otherwise, to prevent bubbles, turn on the shower with hot water so that the room starts to steam (this prevents lint and any floating specks from landing on your camera screen, causing bubbles). Take a lint free cloth and wife the camera screen right before you apply the glass and check in good light that no stray hair or lint falls on the screen. Peel off the stick side of the screen, line it up to the top and side edges (doing a practice line up prior to peeling off the sticker helps), then gently lay the tempered glass screen over your camera's screen- you'll see it immediately push all air out of from underneath as it adheres completely. Press down to make sure it has a good grip and you're done.

Great product. Protects the LCD screen of my X-T2. Wouldn't be without it. Easy to install. Works great.
