Incredible. So happy I spent the extra money.
I have been eating stollen for over 15 years and am pretty well versed in what a good stollen should taste and feel like. I had never tried the authentic Dresedener Emil Reimann who is considered to be the best. I do agree that the price tag on this is 2-3 times what a stollen costs, but after some thought I bought one. I paid extra for this one that comes in a metal tin gift box. I am soo glad I did. This was full of buttery goodness. I am a convert and will only eat Emil Reimann stollen going forward. Impeccable flavor, very heavy so a small piece is all you need and you literally go back to your childhood with every bite. Merry Christmas everyone!

Better than expected
I kinda like fruitcake, and have had stollen before, which I thought was okay. I didn't buy this necessarily for the taste, but for the tradition, to be different, expand my routine, that sort of thing. I didn't expect it to taste as good as it did. We just sat there and ate it the thing in one sitting while doing a Christmas puzzle. All the ingredients were of higher quality than expected, and although I don't know under what circumstances it was made, it had that local-baker-down-the-block texture/taste/look to it. The downside was the tin: it isn't the picture that pictured on Amazon at all, and it came dented in two places. The dents are forgettable in my opinion, plus I don't know who's the blame for them, and despite lacking the scene as pictured, the tin still has a beautiful design that I like. So alls well that ends well there, not disappointing enough to cost it a star or anything.

Love the tin, tastes great
This stollen has the authentic Dresden look, texture and taste. It already has powdered sugar on top but includes a packet of more sugar if you prefer. It is moist and delicious. We like to lightly toast to soften the marzipan and sultanas. We devoured 2 this season.

Missing the little touch that pushed it over the top into the luxury tier
Overall would have given this 5 stars IF they had included the velvet pouch for the expensive cake. It is very expensive!! Nice that it comes in a tin to stay fresh. Nice that put extra powder sugar in the box should you decide to add it. But what made me buy the expensive tinned cake year after year was the luxury of the velvet bag to keep the cake in. That touch made it seem like a fair price for that luxury. This year same tin, same delicious cake, but no velvet pouch. May not purchase this next year due to that. There are other good coffee cakes for over $50....

Great product but over priced and very poorly packaged for shipping.
The stollen is extremely tasty and well made. However, it is definitely not worth the cost. It arrived in a decorative tin box, inside a very simple pastic shipping bag with no padding at all. The tin arrived damaged and it was obvious that the stollen had been bouncing around inside the tin box during shipping. I truly enjoyed the flavor and texture of the stollen but considering the cost and the pathetically poor packaging, I will not buy this one again.

It's not horrible but definitely not worth the calories
I have a friend who regularly brings me Stollen from Germany so I had a reference in mind when I ordered 2 kinds from Amazon in order to compare them and decide which to buy as holiday gifts. (I actually THREW OUT the Kuchenmeister Marzipan Stollen after trying it. It's not horrible but definitely not worth the calories.) The Stollen to buy is the EMIL REIMANN. It is moist, buttery, full of fruit, and indescribably delicious. What a decadent snack. It's also more than double the price of the Kuchenmeister but you get what you pay for. This is genuine Dresdner Stollen which is the crème de la crème (or the equivalent in German). Accept no substitutes. I will be buying Emil Reimann Stollen for my holiday gifts.
