Review: Five stars FOR THE MONEY, NOT in comparison to more expense models. - I wish it at least came in packaging that could protect it a little in my pocket or bag, since it is definitely not sturdily built. The hinge should not be expected to handle a lot of use, and the little clip-on whistle that also attaches the cord to the compass snapped the first time I used it. Normally, I'd give something far fewer stars, with problems like those, but it is shockingly difficult to find an accurate compass in this price range. I recommend making a case or pouch that can be attached to a cord.

Alright but for a suunto the plastic hinge is questionable. Not sure how long this will last with use. Was dissapointed that it did not have a standard metal hinge.
