Medium Dog Undercoat deShedding Tool, Short Hair, Reduces Loose Hair from Shedding

We adopted a rescue puppy this summer who has grown a very short but wiry coat that sheds pretty bad- I find hair on our clothes, couch throws, her bedding, the floor, you name it. I read about this product in search for some sort of solution- I know that nothing will totally rid the house of shedding dog hair but I was hoping to at least find something to cut it wayyy back. The Furminator does exactly that- I bought the the mid-size (orange) one for short hair dogs on black Friday and have used it almost every morning since. WOW- what a huge improvement I've noticed EVERYWHERE. Less hair on our clothes, the floor, etc. We crate her every night and in the morning as I take her out I grab her Furminator and a regular brush. After she potties and we walk a bit I carefully run this over as much of her hair as I can, concentrating on the thickest parts on her lower back and behind her head (it's just bushier in those areas). You can't press down super hard or it will hurt and most likely cut the skin, but you want to use a steady hand and enough pressure (medium pressure?) to grab hair. Even though her hair is short, it definitely grabs the loose hair that would be falling out inside my house! Sometimes a lot comes off of her, sometimes not as much- but it always grabs something. After I finish Furminating her, I use the regular brush on her all over to remove even more and smooth her all out. At first our pup really hated it, and hated being brushed, but she's grown more calm and patient and will mostly sit still until she's just had enough and lets me know. You definitely want to use this outside- YIKES the hair you remove will be in your house if you don't. I can see it blowing into the air when I'm outside using it. For those of you tempted to buy the largest size (blue) even though your dog isn't super big, I struggled with that myself. Our dog is 23 pounds and not very big- but she's super muscular and SOLID. I considered getting the bigger one thinking it would save time and I'd have to make fewer passes with it on her body- BUT I just don't think that would have been the case. I really DO use the orange one to get into some smaller places on her (legs, throat) that would be much more diffiult if I'd purchased the largest size. And the orange one feels good in my hand- it's a solid tool with a little weight but very easy to use once you find the right pressure to apply (and once your dog decides to settle down and let you do the job). I'm glad I went with the Furminator- I saw the less expensive ones on Amazon and just thought that if there was something to put a little money into it would be this tool that is going to save me time and aggravation minimizing the dog hair on our clothes and all over our house. I think I paid $22 and it was totally worth it. OH! And the button on mine definitely DOES RELEASE the dog hair that it combs off, but sometimes I DO shake the tool and even blow on it occasionally but *poof* the hair blows away in the wind. Great product, highly recommend!

This thing is great! I was looking for a good brush to groom my puppy when I came across the Furminator and decided to try it. More a comb than a brush, I find it rather therapeutic when using it on my dog. The Furminator has a way of combing through the fur pulling out excess hair hiding underneath that almost feels like raking. When finished, Luna feels like she has had a bath. Her fur is shiny and super soft. This is the best grooming brush/comb I have ever used. Oh, and Luna really likes it too!

This works beautifully! Crazy how much hair it helps get out. 4 stars because I purchased two—one for short hair dogs and one for long hair dogs (because I have both) and they are exactly the same. No difference in the teeth length or spacing. You literally can’t tell them apart after you get them out of the package with the labeling. But worked great on both dogs.

I cannot say enough good things about this product! We have a 120 pound French mastiff that likes to shed! My husband brushes her daily with this grooming tool and you would be shocked at the amount of hair that comes off of our girl. It’s easy to use and does an excellent job.

I really like this shedding tool, worked great for removing short loose hairs from my pup, easy to clean out and to store. Just have to be gentle with the strokes to remove loose hairs from my pup.

Really takes the hair off, she likes being combed. Dog is short hair w/ wiry, terrier/shepherd coat, no undercoat. Helps control shedding.

I’ve got a 6-year-old lab with a super thick double coat that turns our house into a fur factory every single day requiring daily vacuuming. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing deshedding tool – huge difference right away I’m honestly very impressed with this brush. I bought it for my medium-sized dog and saw results from the first use. It removes so much loose undercoat without pulling or hurting my dog, and she actually stays calm while I use it (which says a lot!). The handle is comfortable to hold, the blade feels solid and well-made, and it doesn’t scratch the skin at all when used gently. After brushing, there’s noticeably less hair around the house and on furniture. I was a bit hesitant because of the price, but it’s 100% worth it. Much better than cheaper brushes I’ve tried before. Highly recommend for anyone dealing with shedding!

I rarely leave reviews - this brush is amazing. I spent 10-20 mins with this brush to remove years of hair and dry skin from my dog. She loved it and doesn't seem to be itchy anymore and she also no longer smells. Noticeably less hair on the floor or our clothes. Highly recommend.
